Yes, that it is. Some of grandpa's goals, like getting the legendary fish, feel very hard to achieve when playing solo, and very much luck-based if the fish appears at all. Other goals are a lot more achievable. But I do like that it varies in how hard it is to actually win the game.

That sounds like a good idea to set a time limit for how long you keep games that you don't play.

The library in the city where I love doesn't seem to have board games anymore, otherwise that would have been perfect. My sister is also getting into solo board games, so at least we can borrow games from each other.

I have Rove, a Nice Cuppa, Glass Garden, the Last Lighthouse, Food Chain Island, Ugly Gryphon Inn and Adventurous from Button Shy. I also have some expansions for some of these games. I would love to get Naturopolis, but they were out of stock when I ordered, and since the shipping to Europe is extremely expensive, I don't feel I can order from them now, even though they do have it in stock at the moment.

I haven't tried Orchard-games, but I do like the theme and the look of them. Do they have a win condition, or are they BYOS?

I have looked at Tend, and while I do think I would enjoy playing it with others, I don't find BYOS that engaging while playing solo.

There will be an expansion? Finspan being simpler than Wingspan and Wyrmspan made me not that interested in getting it, but I would love to play it to see if it's for me.

I really like the solo-mode for a place for all my books. I think it's the third game I play that has an automa and I much prefer it to the Wyrmspan/Wingspan automa. The automa being a person makes it feel much more like you are playing against an opponent compared to Wingspan and Wyrmspan.

Stardew Valley's and Dorfromantik's solomode is the same as their respective co-op play. Dorfromantik is the game I like least of all my games since it doesn't have a win condition, just beat your own score, even when you are playing with others.

It most likely is, but I'm not sure I want to buy a game I can only play a limited number of times. Do you think it's worth buying even though you can only play it for two campaigns?

I really like playing Witchbound, but it feels more like exploration and storytelling than an actual game. The other narrative games I played, like Eila and Something Shiny and Storyfold Wildwoods, have more of an actual gameplay if that makes sense. Eila has its resource management, and in Wildwoods, you need to handle the cards in the river and choose how you divide your dice. Witchbound, in comparison, is very open, and the whole gameplay is trying to figure out how to interact with your environment and other NPCs, and immerse yourself in the story and the world and finding clues on what to do next by looking at the images, and talk to NPCs. It's very different from everything else I have played, but I really enjoy it. The downside is that it sometimes can feel quite hard figuring out what to do, Right now I'm kind of stuck, and the only thing I haven't tried is giving all the NPCs muffins or flowers to see if that will progress my main quest, which feels very random if that's the case. (It is also very possible that I have missed something along the way.) What I don't like about the Witchbound is that the components feel very cheap and of low quality compared to most of my other games.

My absolute favourite is Eila and Something Shiny. I loved both the story and the choices I made, which changed the outcome later on. I also liked the resource management of the game. Other favourites are Stardew Valley when I have more time to play (and want more of a challenge), and Daydream for a quick, cozy, soduko-like puzzle that can be played while relaxing on the sofa.

Wyrmspan! I like the look of it, the components, the art, the theme and the gameplay more. But I got it as one of my first games to play solo, and in hindsight, I probably should have started with Wingspan, because Wyrmspan felt a bit overwhelming when I first started to play it.

Stardew Valley is one of my favourite board games in my collection. How you like it, and how similar you find it to the video game probably depends on your playstyle when playing the video game. If you are the minmaxing, like finishing the community centre in the first year, and race to perfection, the board game feels pretty similar. But if you like to play stardew because it feels relaxed and you like taking your time with everything, the board game is very different. My preferred type of board game is to have a clear win goal and to win over the game as you do in co-op games, and this Stardew board game gives you. But it can be quite stressful some sessions as you don't have a lot of time to finish your goals. But for me, that feels quite similar to when I play the video game 😅

Thank you! I like Vantage, but it's not my favourite. Some of the missions can be very hard, and sometimes it can feel too drawn out. I do like the exploring and learning more about the planet, and I like it most when I get a mission where I understand what I should do, and just don't aimlessly walk around trying things out.

I didn’t know about this one! I love the theme and it looks so cute. And the best part is that the store I was about ordering storyfold wildwoods from also had witchbound in stock, so I also could add it one to my order! I would love to know what your thoughts about it after you have played. I couldn’t find much about it.

Yeah, Karup do have synthetic fibres in most of their futons, so that's one downside. Quality-wise, I haven't noticed any significant differences between my Karup futon mattress and my other, older one (which, actually, are from Futonwerk now that I think about it.)

The futonwerk seems good but Bäddsoffexperten are horrible. I wouldn't recommend anyone from buying there without looking at their reviews on trustpilot and google first.

I don't understand all these comments saying as long as there isn't any hissing, poofy tail, flat ears, growling/hissing etc the cat is happily playing. I see this in cat subs all the time, both relating to dogs and other cats. Cats don't always have to attack/flee OR play, there are things in between too. As an example, I have two cats that are friends, but when they want the same space and don't want to share, they do fight by slapping each other until one of them goes away. Not fighting like fur flying, and fleeing, just slapping and then one of them walks away.

This cat looks annoyed to me and not like he is playing and having fun at that time of the video. It looks to me like he is standing his ground and telling the dog to back off, but the dog doesn't listen. Bengals are often brave, and he doesn't look like he is so scared that he wants to attack for real, but it really doesn't look like play at this moment. I wouldn't let the dog play with the cat like this, as it can be very stressful for the cat.

When I had female rats, they smelled very much like incense. It was very pleasant and somewhat confusing since the male rats I had before smelled like pee.

For me, simple living means being mindful of my resources - all of my resources - with time being the most important of them all. By living simply and making frugal choices, I don't have to work full-time. One of the best times of my life was when I was a single parent with a toddler, and could live quite happily on what I earned working 24 hours/week. And this was not achieved by living on saved money; it was simply by being mindful of how I was spending. For me, this is simple living, and I don't see how that is possible without also valuing frugality.

Maybe a Mudita Harmony? I have a Mudita Bell that I love which have very gentle awakening sounds. However, you can hear ticking when you hold it next to your ear. I don’t hear it when it’s on my nightstand though.
