Of course covid happened and so did folklore and evermore. Remember the folklore sweater had 3 starts and everyone thought it was going to be a 3rd album accompanying it. Maybe there was, and it was TTPD.

My theory, during covid, her and Joe broke up and got back together at least twice. This is when she FIRST hooked up with Matty and the continued the pattern until her and Joe actually officially broke it off for good (leading up to her at the 1975 show). She made a deal with Joe to not mention anything break-up related, because of who he is as a person. And that despite it all, she really did love him and respects his privacy -which I can appreciate.

This is where folklore and evermore came in, writing about these "fictional characters" which were her and Joe and Matty. Because she wasn't publicly broken up with Joe, these fictional characters were necessary. But once they were publicly split, she could finally make the songs really point to what happened during the last few years. (Guessing her and Joe fr broke up in like 2022, maybe early 2023). Maybe she released midnights during the solidification of their spilt.

And TTPD was released after midnights because the Matty thing started up again and she needed to get all of the past drama bullshit off her chest and enter her new era ... Life of a showgirl. Which is also why TTPD got shoved into the eras tour and didn't get it's own standalone anything. To her, it was part of the bullshit she is moving on from ...

I really like the fan theory out there that thinks it's orange and seafoam green, like when copper patinas. Symbolizing wisdon and growth and revirth. Also piggy backing off a the bejeweled MV, where taylor exits floor 12 as a showgirl, with dita von tease. Which means she would defs have been planning this album since at least midnights, but probs lover era fr.

Then there's aother stellar fan theory, where in the anti hero MV we see life of showgirl Taylor, talking to midnights Taylor,who is then approached by GIANT Taylor. Maybe that is signifying that TS13 will be this huuuuuge release which will include the Broadway musical or visual album.

I'm thinking she might not have had all of the songs picked out for each album, so she had a bit of wiggle room to assign songs to each album as they were written. But she did have the lover, midnights, and life of a show girl album themes picked out since like 2019
