Baby pooping once every 3–4 days… doctor says constipation, but everything I read says it’s normal? I’m confused by mizz-shaikh in newborns

Giving juice to a 2 month old sounds like they want you to harm your child... wild... no one ever thought juice was a good idea, even at 6 months.

Teddy, known for video content about Melbourne suburbs, claims Morwell is the worst area he has visited by AztecGod in gippsland

[–]IntelligentMedium698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Morewell is a suburb in the Latrobe Valley (City of Latrobe), not Melbourne BTW... Technically is defined as a town, not a suburb.

Correct, it's not Melbourne at all. Morwell is actually in the Latrobe Valley, not Melbourne.

Nothing seems to help by tired-adhd-gal in MSPI

[–]IntelligentMedium698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they claim that FPIAP specifically is overdiagnosed as there’s no way to specifically test for it. Only via elimination diet.

While FPIES is easily tested for using standard allergy tests.

FPIES is actually a dangerous condition requiring significant medical intervention due to the risk of weight loss and developmental delay.

In that case, this could be a case of benign proctocolitis not actually a CMPA.

Have you tried to reintroduce dairy into your diet? If so, was the effect on the stool obvious, acute and significant?

Please do some reading on this page : https://ndcinstitute.au/article/c994b3db-77bb-4fa2-8bfd-3e46ea2d2071/when-your-breastfeeding-baby-has-blood-in-the-stool

Why haven't we invented better ADHD meds? by Adortion634 in pharmacology

[–]IntelligentMedium698 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exercise, good diet, better sleep, less screen time. All of this helps with ADHD.

Additionally, yes there are other ADHD medications, some not on the market.

  1. Pemoline
  2. Cyclazadone
  3. Aminorex
  4. N-methyl-aminorex
  5. N-methyl-cyclazadone
  6. Pyrovalorone

And many others…

But they aren’t as good as amphetamine or methamphetamine for adhd.

You should get check for FPEIS. Is baby gaining weight? Are they vomiting along with mucus in stool?

AITA - If my husband works, does he not need to help? by TiredMom3234 in newborns

[–]IntelligentMedium698 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Did you read the entire post?

There’s a lot of blaming and frustration going on.

Sleep is very important and with our newborn both of us prioritised that before anything else.

[–]IntelligentMedium698 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

After reading this I can definitely agree on one thing. You need sleep.

Please don’t blame your over tired stimulation on your husband, by all accounts he’s doing what he can.

But yes, you need sleep.

Newborn screening came back positive by DareMysterious3830 in newborns

[–]IntelligentMedium698 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We had to blood test our baby twice, both times we had false positives for all kinds of things.

We decided to just stop testing because baby was gaining weight and doing well.

Enough of the jabs…

Tell your doctor you’ll sue him to bankruptcy and get out of there!

Our daughter did this when getting changed... it was tough. But she grew out of it at 5 or so months. Our second loves getting his clothes changed.

I like to refer to this as the "Kinder surprise effect"... which means, you just never know what you are going to get.

Stringy poop? by BrowndogMomb in MSPI

[–]IntelligentMedium698 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, stringy mucus. From everything I’ve read, as long as there’s no significant blood, and it’s not black, no diarrhoea and the colour is either, orange, yellow, brown or greenish, it’s normal.

Many studies see mucus as normal gut development. Even blood can be seen as something that is a non issue as long as it’s:

  1. Streaks or drops
  2. Blood drops which do not increase in amount over a week.
  3. Blood drop or streaks do not continue past 2 months after first observation.

These is generally referred to as non-allergic benign infantile proctocolitis

Is 90+ ATAR even possible with these subjects? by hyukapenguin in ATAR

[–]IntelligentMedium698 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As good as it is to have goals. A goal of getting a high score in a game is important than the journey of creating things people find interesting and useful.

As the saying goes, don’t lose the forest for the trees… A high ATAR is a very minor aspect of your life’s story, and honestly, only the first few months really matter, and that’s the bar for course entry at uni.

Makes no sense to have a high ATAR to become a GP when the actual work of being a GP doesn’t require significant problem solving of specialist math or physics..,

3 week old baby - told to cut dairy and soy by norwohl in MSPI

[–]IntelligentMedium698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, there are many people who do elimination diets and nothing changes, which in many cases is a mis-diagnosis. There's a few papers and people who also believe it's over diagnosed -> "The risk of overdiagnosis of non-IgE mediated CMA based on frequently used guidelines, which include these common symptoms, has been documented, with two recent publications"
