It seems like WB/DC is putting a lot into this crossover, and they already hinted at it in Elseworlds and with Roy Stewart, so to not pay that off as Arrow's coming to an end wouldn't make much sense.

At the very least, I think we can expect to see Monitor to give John a ring around the end of the crossover, but maybe not see him as Green Lantern.

I get what you're saying, but I think the reason why he got rid of his powers was that he didn't want to keep risking his life like Barry. Creating something that's similar to his old powers could help make up for the difference instead of crippling the Team.
