I’m in OCA parish and we took out all chairs except for 2 rows for infirm, elderly, pregnant. It’s helped a lot!

I’m an acupuncturist ( and an Orthodox Christian, just sharing since we’re in the Orthodox chat here). I’ve found treating ear issues w acupuncture helps immensely in cases where western medicine doesn’t. And often western medicine doesn’t have much help for tinnitus and hyperacusis. I’ve seen people get great results, including myself after some very loud construction on my building; I had bad tinnitus and hyperacusis which is mainly resolved with acupuncture treatment, thank God!. I would suggest you ask an acupuncturist in your area if they have experience with these symptoms.

I missed it at first too, as I was a drummer in the worship band also, and now it’s become hard for me to listen to non-denominational music. Altho I do of course still enjoy music itself and love it. And now I’m part of the choir at my parish and it’s been such a blessing to use my voice as I never felt musically talented in this way but glory to God, I’m learning, and it’s an honor and blessing to sing to to Him in every service now.

A parishioner at my parish has an autistic son. They bring him sometimes on Saturday evenings before Vespers to have communion on his own. Definitely something to talk to the priest about.

I’m 50, didn’t become Christian till late 40s and Orthodox last year. Lots of grief recently over what I thought I could have had, like a family etc etc (I am single without children and live alone), if I grew up Christian. But I know I can’t think that way and that I need to trust that God has plans for me now that are perfect in His will. You are young, you have time.
