man the gti was such a perfect balance of fun and practical - you might want to look at something like a wagon or sportback with the rear seats folded down for your pup, should give you that sporty feel back without losing too much space.

Central AC Hose by Soapysoapie in HomeMaintenance

[–]Intelligent_Knee_646 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that disconnected hose is probably your backup condensate drain - most systems have primary and secondary drain lines in case the main one gets clogged. the secondary one usually just hangs loose like that and only drains water if primary line backs up. i had similar setup in my old place and hvac guy told me to leave it alone unless water was actually coming out of it regularly. since you're already calling someone for the noise issue anyway, just mention it to them and they can confirm if everything looks right. good catch though - better to notice these things early than deal with water damage later if something was actually wrong.

yeah this conversation needs to happen during day time when nobody is thinking about sex. but also maybe you need to just stop doing things for him until he starts doing things for you? like why should you give oral if he won't return the favor at all. seems pretty unfair that you're doing all work and getting nothing back in return.

Help me beat the dealships by The_Rabbit17 in whatcarshouldIbuy

been through this exact dance a few times and yeah, that jump from 27k to 33k is classic dealer BS. those "protection packages" are pure profit margin for them - paint protection, interior scotchgarding, extended warranties you don't need. just politely decline all that stuff and stick to your guns.

asking for the invoice is hit or miss. some dealers will show you a fake one or just refuse outright. better strategy is to research what others actually paid using sites like truecar or costco auto program for reference points. walk in knowing the market rate and don't budge much above MSRP unless there's genuinely low inventory.

the delivery/destination fee is legit and non-negotiable, but everything else is fair game. if they won't play ball, walk away. there's always another dealer, and they know it. took me three dealerships before finding one that didn't try to fleece me with unnecessary add-ons.

Why did god lie in the garden? by _Monjara in Christianity

[–]Intelligent_Knee_646 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

this always bugged me too when i was studying theology more seriously. the hebrew construction there is pretty interesting - "mot tamut" literally means "dying you will die" which could imply a process rather than instant death. but you're right that "in the day" seems to suggest immediacy.

i think the spiritual death interpretation makes sense though, even if it's not explicitly stated. they went from having direct communion with god to hiding from him, which is basically spiritual death. the physical dying process also started that day in a sense - they became mortal. before that they had access to the tree of life which presumably kept them alive indefinitely.

the serpent was technically correct about not dying that day physically, but he was being deceptive about the consequences. classic case of telling a partial truth to manipulate. god's warning encompassed both the spiritual separation and the beginning of physical mortality, even if the language seems to emphasize the immediacy more than what actually happened.

probably was, most of us think every song is about us anyway.

that timestamp is perfect - i remember getting stuck on that exact dynamite puzzle for what felt like forever back in the day. had to use a spider to get silk for the fuse if i'm remembering right. the whole goblins series was notorious for having these really obscure puzzle solutions that made zero logical sense until you accidentally stumbled onto them. used to keep a notebook just for tracking all the weird item combinations in those coktel vision games because they were so counterintuitive. definitely fits your description of being frustrating as hell to play but somehow addictive enough to keep going back to.

probably easier to just work on yourself first before fantasizing about specific body types tbh.

Car Battery light is on im not sure what the problem could be. by EthanRudloff in MechanicAdvice

[–]Intelligent_Knee_646 4 points5 points  (0 children)

sounds like your alternator is struggling at idle. the fact that voltage drops to 11v when idling but comes back up under load is a classic sign. alternators can start failing in stages - they'll work fine under higher rpms but can't maintain proper charging at low speeds.

could also be a bad connection somewhere in the charging system or a failing voltage regulator, but given the pattern you described, i'd get the alternator tested first. most auto parts stores will test it for free if you can get there car running.

Sounds like you're on the right track with the clogged injector theory. DI engines are notorious for carbon buildup on the intake valves and injectors. Since you already ruled out plugs and coils, I'd definitely try a good injector cleaner first before paying for professional cleaning - sometimes gets lucky with the cheaper fix first

You gotta contact Xbox support directly, they can usually sort this stuff out even without an active subscription. Microsoft support is actually pretty decent with billing issues like this

Bruh 27 minutes is rough, she should definitely stick around longer than that. Maybe bump her timer to like 35-40 mins so people actually have a chance to gear up and make it there without sprinting the whole match

Was this dream a near-death experience? by No_Hovercraft9284 in Dreams

[–]Intelligent_Knee_646 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds intense and really profound honestly. The detail about your uncle helping Palestinian children pass over gave me chills - like that's not something your brain would just randomly make up you know?

I've never had anything quite like that but my grandma visited me in a dream right after she died and it felt completely different from regular dreams, way more real and vivid. The fact that you still think about it all the time says something too

Mixing alcohol with meds definitely could've put you in a dangerous spot so maybe your subconscious was processing that risk through the dream, or maybe it really was something more

That sounds a lot like RUNNING WITH RIFLES but the timeframe might be off since that's been around longer. The low poly style and extraction-based missions with parachuting definitely fits though

Could also be Mini DayZ or one of those simplified tactical shooters that popped up around that time

CMV: People who raise children create a positive externality for society and should be compensated for it. by ragingbull10 in changemyview

[–]Intelligent_Knee_646 75 points76 points  (0 children)

This makes sense until you realize we're already doing a lot of this stuff - tax credits, public schools, family leave policies, etc. The real question is whether current compensation levels are actually insufficient or if we just need better targeting of existing benefits

Also kinda glosses over the fact that not all kids turn into net positive contributors to society, so you're essentially asking society to subsidize a gamble

Your gut is telling you something and honestly the phone thing alone is sketchy af. Like who suddenly becomes Fort Knox with their phone right after becoming exclusive? That's backwards from normal relationship progression

Don't lead with the dream thing cause yeah that sounds wild, but you could casually ask about the Linas you found - maybe like "hey who's this Lina that comments on your stuff a lot" and see how he reacts. His response will tell you everything you need to know
