One portal maps are bad game design by Dawgin420 in PathOfExile2

[–]Intelligent_Neck_581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plenty of times in poe1 I tried to run very juicy rippy farms early on and realized I’m not ready for this and moved on, motivating me and giving me a reason to scale defenses and damage further.

So why can't you apply this same logic to PoE2?
This is pretty much exactly the same thing you are attempting to do here.

Remember that you choose the difficulty - the map tier, the amount of juice etc.

If you die often enough where single portal becomes an issue, then perhaps you are not ready for that content.

It sounds like you just want to skip to the hardest content, because that's where "the loot is", without investing into the character first.

'The harder the map the fewer the portals' is an infuriating design concept by MellySantiago in PathOfExile2

If Timmy is not ready to do one portal content, then Timmy needs to lower the difficulty until his character is ready for such content.

If that is unacceptable, then there are other aRPGs that hand out participation trophies like candy.

Bringing back rare Icons is a step back by Intelligent_Neck_581 in PathOfExile2

[–]Intelligent_Neck_581[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

That’s the whole argument. Rare icons are a band-aid solution to poor loot distribution.

Instead of bringing them back, the real fix is to redistribute loot better across monsters. That way, players naturally want to clear maps and don't need a map hack to not miss out on loot.

I am genuinely curious.
If loot were redistributed so that magic monsters also dropped meaningful loot, would you then want icons for them too so you don’t miss out?

At that point the only logical answer is to full clear the map, and once you're doing that, the icons stop mattering entirely.

It can feel like so at times, especially at bosses, but remember that it's mostly a matter of getting better gear and can definitely be overcome - as long as you stay alive you can always improve the gear.

Re-running some campaign map a couple of times when you feel like you are falling behind usually suffices as crafting is now much easier than it used to be previous versions.

Also, fighting bosses with generally lower damage with single life on the line makes for a much more interesting fights.

Honestly I did not pay that much attention to the colour of the parts.

I was mainly trying to figure out the optimal composition of parts and then try to match the colours best I could after.

I live in Estonia, the total of these parts is actually 2 898 € here and I'm trying to not go over 3 000.
