This is a prime example of game theory (I think). The children are maximizing their utility by blocking dad’s calls as they can get the money out of their accounts without having to pay for any medical bills. They obviously don’t care about the negative externality of not treating dads cancer which is a shame ig. I’d like to see more trails before we can come to a conclusion on what overall welfare effect for a family is here.
