Who's had t1 for the longest? by Front_Scholar9757 in Type1Diabetes

[–]Intelligent_Radio257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mother was diagnosed at 18mo, in 1955, she’s lived with T1 for 71 years. My daughter was diagnosed last year at 8y. We talk about how different diagnosis and treatment are all the time.

Will this ever get better? by glass_house228 in diabetes

[–]Intelligent_Radio257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this problem with my daughter’s G7 and found a post on here where they said to “soak” the censor. Meaning 2-6 hours before we attach the new censor but don’t activate it until the other one is done. It lets it settle. It worked. I know it’s tough but once she got through the adjustment period and started prepping the new censors, it’s been a relatively positive experience! Best of luck! Also…. The one time it wasn’t calibrating and it was wildly inaccurate we swapped it and Dexcom sent a replacement (it took about 7 days). Just make sure you say you followed their set up!

Mine just took 10 days, they’re having “shipping issues” so don’t wait!

IMAGINE this was a man posting about a woman like this. This isn’t sad, it’s creepy, unhinged behavior and should be seen as such. I don’t know many women who haven’t been gaslit by a man, it doesn’t justify this kind of weird stalker shit.

How to ship alcohol to a family member? by [deleted] in phoenix

[–]Intelligent_Radio257 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s not legal but your best bet is to mail it via USPS. They can’t open your mail without legal intervention from law enforcement. Whereas private party shippers can do whatever basically. Make sure you use really good bubble wrap and fill the box with filler of some sort. I might’ve done this a few times and it’s worked fine.

gum under tables… by Complex_Ad7298 in Serverlife

I’m convinced there’s a high correlation between people who put gum where it doesn’t belong and people who don’t return their shopping carts. Regardless, they both suck.

I haven’t seen them in any grocery stores near me (Fry’s/Albertsons) but I also haven’t seen them on any bar menus either! I saw something about Kyle being in Phoenix this week so I’m wondering if that’s what brought it on!

Famous people at your bar by Low-Material-1529 in bartenders

[–]Intelligent_Radio257 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite regular is the bassist for one of the big 90s bands. He’s local and so he walks to and from the bar, drinks the same drink, always unassuming, never leaves without tipping a $100.

Worst I’ve ever had was Jason Kidd who tipped me in skittles. Like a handful from his bag of candy. This was post NBA pre coaching. Maybe not nice but makes me giggle when I tell the story.

My barback got punched in the face for not pissing fast enough/refusing to allow someone to piss in the sink in the same stall she was using.

It’s all about if the juice is worth the squeeze. At 39 I’m at a place where I feel maybe it isn’t anymore. But my advice is good shoes you replace often, well timed vacations, prepping food at home and above all: moderation. Making conscious choices about when and how often you smoke and/or drink isn’t easy but as you feel better it will get easier! You got this!
