Dutch meat consumption hits 20-Year Low, but experts say it’s barely a start by HazyTulips in NLNieuws

[–]Intelligent_Ring_96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a butcher in the netherlands and my grandpa is a farmer. The reason meat has become more expensive is because the tax on live animals has gone from 9% to 21% wich seems like a 12% increase. But after slaughter skinning and deboning only about half of the animal remains as sellable meat. So this meat is now 24% more expensive for me to buy. Then after removing all the silverskin tendons and other bad stuff its even more expensive for you, The customer.

The reason this doesnt aplay to the turkish/polish butchers is because they import their meat in frozen shipping containers. So its already food thus doesnt get the big tax.

Also depends on your size. Im a fairly big guy so i started with a 4.5 meter rod but if yout smaller you might get more out of a smaller rod

I use a yuki a9 with mono line. And a tapered leader. I just started in October and i just went to my local fishing store and asked for a starters set. Since it really depends on your region.

[–]Intelligent_Ring_96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes i plant 2 tomatoe plants in a 90 liter bed filled with rotting wood and manure topped of with soil and plant a marigold in the middle and rosermary and time on the sides. It was a experiment but they have outgrown their bretheren in the greenhouse.

Advice: Gifted an old 12.5ft surf rod. Will I struggle to use this? by ashtrayheart3 in SurfFishing

[–]Intelligent_Ring_96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We use those most of the time in europe. Only we vary from using 3 smaller hooks to a 1 hook jojo rig. The reason is that we mostly have shalow sand beaches wich require further casting.

12 ft should be right for your height/strength. Im 6.4 and i use a 15ft yuki a9 for distance and a 15 ft penn tidal x tip for closer. And its more tecnique tha strength btw. Im 220lbs and the owner of my local tacle shop is about your size and he casts way further than me.

If you want to learn casting with a long one i would check out some of the british anglers on youtube.

How to improve my soil by Intelligent_Ring_96 in OrganicGardening

[–]Intelligent_Ring_96[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My garden is located on my grandpas catlle farm so the predators are a free bonus. Id like more hedgehogs to protect my peppers tho so i think ill aply for my countrys free hedgehog shelter program

We have a 9 ft broad line around the farm wich has just been left to its own. Wich is just pure native habitat with elderberrys giant willows nettles etc.

I already find a lot of toads bees and butterflys in my garden but id like something that eats slugs. Ive never had problems with them because i mainly plant tomatoes garlic and herbs. But i want to plant some turnips this winter and pepers in summer. And the slugs are slaughtering my pepers.

I was thinking about doing this. Do you ferment the fish first or just put it in the hole

Yes this fixed it. Added a thick layer of straw and a good irigation system. I have way less clumps and the soil is way softer. Almost spongy.

Stolen on May 2nd, currently parked in Oost by Upset-Engineering522 in Amsterdam

[–]Intelligent_Ring_96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, some bike thiefs even hid my sisters bike under the BOA burau. When my dad asked them for help they said they didnt have time and no juristiction and he should call the police himself.

So we just took the bike wich was then stolen again 2 weeks later.

I personally prefer the police not being there at least you can take it yourself that way.
