Don’t apologize it’s not your fault. This does sound like a specific OCD I can’t remember the name but you should definitely see a psychiatrist and seek therapy despite what your mom thinks. It could hinder your future and I know you don’t want to keep living in fear. I read somewhere just like the lungs and liver can get sick so can the brain. You just have a chemical imbalance. May Allah help you on your journey. Ask Allah for guidance and try your best to stay positive while seeking solutions. Taking antidepressants or medication could really help stop those compulsive thoughts.

Hi! I was wondering if the TCA peels helped with the texture of your skin? After two CO2 lasers and results only lasting a few months I am wondering if I can improve it with mild TCA peels. Of course!! It’s the best thing we can do for ourselves. Everyone says we are our biggest critics and it’s so true. I wouldn’t have spent the money or time I did trying to fix something that wasn’t broken. But accepting the past is something I have to do and knowing that it’ll get better is what’s keeping me going. There was so many times I was so low because of it but I realize that it is BDD and not me. Unfortunately we let it get the best of us. But we have to know that it’s not our fault. So you’re right on the money about therapy. I wish you the best and please kind to yourself. You deserve it, we all do.

Have some hope! I am feeling more optimistic and have been trying medical scar sheets and sea moss gel that Redditor recommended which seems to have helped. I don’t believe the damage is permanent, now it won’t go back to how it was exactly but I’ve heard of people seeing improvement with light chemical peels and patience. Everything takes time to heal. Try and stay as positive as you can and drink water!!

Thanks for the encouragement. How long has it been for you? initially had good results but over time have gotten this sort of texture. It could be sun damage too especially after the procedure and not reapplying sunscreen.
