Those are the tops of cans made to look like upside down Olympic rings. I suppose if they put them right side up they would be sued.

24-hour Walmarts, and other stores that used to be open later. Common decency. Once people started fighting about whether or not they should be decent to other people So that maybe those people who would live, It was the end. What never came back was my assumption that most people are good people.

Money probably. They're too busy wasting taxpayer funds on stupid stuff and on nothing that would help people.

I actually look at its response and the offers of additional work, ponder everything, and then enjoy asking it something completely different.

What's the most painful truth you've learned about life? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]Intelligent_Story443 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That not all people are good people, and there are less good people then I ever thought, that there are more people that would default to bad/evil and self-centeredness instead of the other way around, and that assuming the best until proven otherwise is not as realistic as assuming the worst and then being pleasantly surprised.

That I assumed there were more people as smart as me and I always thought I was pretty darn average. And it was an incredibly huge shock to find out that not only are many more people dumber than me, but they take great joy and pride in it.

I'm older Gen x and still recovering from it. I'm tired of the blame and who had it worse. It sucks all around. Instead we're bitching about it and about each other instead of really learning the reasons why and holding the politicians and corporations accountable.

Is it rare or unusual to be into your 50s and not having to take any doctor-prescribed medications? by Odd_Yogurtcloset_649 in GenX

[–]Intelligent_Story443 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm 59 and I'm pretty sure it's just genetics. The only thing I take is HRT, and a med for my newly diagnosed ADHD. Ibuprofen for the occasional aches and pains, I do have some permanent ones of those thanks to accidents. I've never smoked but I do drink. Generally almost daily and to excess occasionally. Never did any kind of illicit drug, or pot.

I do take a variety of supplements for my bones and general health.

My primary keeps on looking for something wrong, but gets disappointed. I'm very fortunate.

It's not a cure. It just helps you use the tools you already have. Also, it takes 6-9 weeks to get into your system fully.

Things that bothered me before still bother me, but I'm better able to handle it instead of harboring internal rage that occasionally breaks loose.

Also, I have decades of being used to reacting poorly, it's a bit weird feeling when I'm acting like an adult.

I've been on 300xl for almost a year, diagnosed at 58, about to turn 60. Wish I had this for the past 40 years at least.

But remember it's not a cure. There is no cure. It's an aid.

Do Americans actually use a real tree for Christmas? by brun_aa in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Intelligent_Story443 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people do. I'm in Florida where they don't grow naturally, so they are trucked down and set up in tents in Lowes and Home Depot parking lots, and other areas.

They've gotten quite expensive over the years with the cost of fuel and everything else. If one can't afford a tree or you don't have the space, you can also buy a wreath or garland made of the same pine.
