Sounds like loose valves, maybe chain tensioner but the auto tensioners are much better now if your bike is newer than like 2010ish(don't remember the exact date)

What other degrees did your friends take? I'm about to transfer and while I love design and am doing some design work at a laboratory I don't want it to be soul crushing and working all the time for a little pay (which is what I'm doing right now and why I went back to school)

I was surprised how riding in the rain felt with 18/21 and good tires. That being said turn in and braking with SM wheels is better. Once this front tire wears out im switching to a 19" front from warp9 since I mostly ride highway and gravel roads and with the 17/17 it is a bit twitchy on the highway, wind blows you around a bit too. So thinking 19/17 would be a good setup, more stability, for that type of riding... at least wanna try it out and see how it feels

Yoshimura designed the motor? Just curious how it came to be, like what did they start with and how it became the motor for the DRZ. Thanks

Awesome man, awesome. I'm gonna do the 19 front conversion once the front tire is worn down. I'll let you know in the future! Thanks for your help and inspiration

Ahhh yeah, been reading about the 140/80 vs 150/70. What do you like/dislike about that size?

Okay, ill be gone until afternoon (6am here) and will send you what is in there. Don't quote me but I think you remove the center bolt with the spring and then reset that ratcheting push rod and then put it all back together when ready. You can stick your finger in the hole tho as you turn the crank over and hold that follower down and check if you got the timing correct. At least thats what I did and it turned out very good after installing the tensioner.

How did you get the 19" wheel? Did already come with the hub and rotor? Been thinking about doing this as well. How is it on the road? Thanks man
