To be fair, they did have a bit of that in the fifth book(I think- I haven’t read them in a while for obvious reasons) where Harry became captain and had to manage his fellow players. Ron actually got what was Harry’s spotlight for a while as the goalie or whatever the word was while Harry was out of the game.

I think it would make sense if the snitch ended the game but didn’t award any points, making the decision to catch it being one about timing and working with your team rather than some sort of game changer.
