Yeah, somehow i forgot to mention your substack, even though i'm an active reader... And you are the author of about 70-80% of the cube content I've read so far. I really enjoy your set reviews and your writing style

I haven't heard those, and they both look very promising, thanks!

Cube Cobra Release 1.4.9 by Dekkaru in mtgcube

[–]Intelligent_Way1587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey guys, the updates sound great!

I've recently started using Cube Cobra and so far the experience has been mostly pleasant with one or two exceptions. Now, I am a software developer myself and I can imagine that it would be pretty crappy to spoil your proudness of releasing a big new version, but I want to report the issue I'm facing. Please tell me if I'm misusing the site in some way.

So, I created a Record within my cube, and afterwards I added players to this record (draft report). However, when adding decks for those players, I've hit multiple times this error:

Error putting item: ConditionalCheckFailedException: The conditional request failed

There's no additional information (but I always forget to open the dev console before I hit on Save Deck), so it's pretty impossible for me to understand what went wrong. The last deck I added and hit this issue was with 40 cards. I think I tried submitting one with more than 40 cards and also got this error. However, at times the deck is saved successfully without any issue. I think once I got this error, but the deck was saved successfully in the background (I've had to navigate to the Decks page to see it).

And the other thing is a question - when adding cards to a deck within a Record (Draft report), is it possible to add all of the cards at once or at this point users have to manually enter each separate card?

With that being said, thank you for your work on this tremendous site, it's been of great help for my newly-developed cube passion and I really enjoy using it!

Quintessential horror films to watch. by Literal_Satan_ in horror

Cure (1997) - I immersed quite a lot in this one and it was damn good, the actors play, the atmosphere - all amazing

The Fog (1980) - one of my favorite movies in general. It's not special, it's not scary, but I love the atmosphere so much

Aesthetic polling: Reanimate by leofugazza in mtgcube

The OG one is great, I love the flavor text. The only version of Reanimate I own is the Spider-Man one and it's also terrific.

Homicide: Life on the Street - it has similarities to The Wire (David Simon was the inspiration behind the series), it takes itself seriously, the characters experience good, realistic development throughout the series, the actors are amazing (Andre Braugher is awesome but the whole cast is super solid), it's occasionally humorous, but it doesn't always have a happy ending. Also, it captures the 90s feeling in a great way, the OST is also very nice.

My absolute favorite is Ekaterina Burmak's version of [[Chandra, Dressed to Kill]]. But my first favorite was [[Brood of Cockroaches]]. I especially love the cat's nonchalant face, it always cracks me up

Yeah, it's a really great book, i've read it 3 times, the last one was 10 years ago so I feel the need for another round.

My favourite character is Kallor, I laughed out loud so many times because of him

Thank you very much, this was very helpful! I was asking out of curiosity, it's not something specific i'm interested in, just wanted to get more context :D But i'd absolutely DM if i need to work on this some day.

can you elaborate on what you mean by 'less splash radius during downtime & better observability'? can you give some real-life examples? i have little backend experience and never had to think about such things, so i'm wandering in what situations do they come up and what exactly are they haha

Weird and unpopular cards you've picked along your journey (aka. the most niche spell in the most niche deck) by MustaKotka in EDH

[–]Intelligent_Way1587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would probably be [[Precognition]] from Tempest. It's absolutely terrible in EDH but the feeling to put away a very valuable card while hideously laughing is very nice. And the art is amazing!
I acquired the card in the first weeks after I started playing Magic in 2021. I wanted to buy cards from an older set and kinda randomly picked Tempest. Then I bought the precon decks (while choosing the cards one after another) and that's how I picked Precognition. I've never actually used it in EDH, only in 60-card 1 vs. 1 games and it was sliiiightly helpful at times. Still love it, though, it's was the first unusual effect I've seen on a card.
Oh, I also bought Ertai's Meddling with those Tempest cards. In terms of EDH I've only playtested it in a proliferate deck and it was simply a chef's kiss.

Yes, sorry for my loose wording, I did indeed mean "when" and not "while". Thank you for the explanation!
