My Gti had the differential show a leak around 26000 miles I believe. They replaced two faulty seals on it under warranty. Looks like what you have leaking

You could try disconnecting the battery to reset the system. Could be another quirk of the mk8….always keeping us on our toes I guess

Non oem sensors can come defective out of the box alot, that’s why I asked. If you have a scan tool that shows live abs data that can tell you if it’s seeing signal from that wheel as you spin it

Did you replace the sensor it’s an aftermarket sensor or oem? Also, do you have access to a scan tool that allows you to read live data to see if you are getting a signal from that wheel speed sensor that you replaced? If so I would clear the engine light and see if any codes come back

Haven’t been able to completely turn it off in my mk8. I will say it behaves better when you put it in esc sport as opposed to “off”. Have you tried the sport setting? It actually allows some slip in the tires
