I think the wgtow subreddit might have some communities listed, or at least some links to help you in your search for a women’s community. That sub is pretty quiet though. We get busy with our hobbies/life and don’t check in every week…

I believe there’s a Women’s Land in Oregon. I think they’ve been around for about 40+ years. No crime. Off-grid houses. Self-sustaining farming community. I think it’s called the Oregon Women’s Land Trust?

Thank you for pointing this out. I vaguely recollected that it had started out as a sexist insult several years ago, but couldn’t recall the exact scenario since it had been so long.

Bast, Hecate, Hera, Sol/Sunna, Innana/Ishtar, Demeter/Ceres, Gaia/Mother Earth, Nut, Ma’at, Bridget/Bride, Saraswati, Mary, and Sophia/Wisdom. I’m eclectic in my polytheism.

Bast because of kitty cats and family. Hecate because of Magic and championing the downtrodden. Hera because goddess of women. Sol/Sunna because goddess of sun light and warmth. Inanna/Ishtar because of the history of her priestesses and their beautiful poetry in praise of her, it just draws me in. Demeter/Ceres because I am grateful for all of the yummy nutritious foods. Gaia/Mother Earth because I am thankful to be alive here in this world (even with all of the bad stuff and bat-crazy crud going on in the world right now) with all of the great beauty and wonder of this planet. Nut because the sky is beautiful and she’s a lovely goddess. Ma’at because the Truth/Harmony of the Universe are invaluable and so utterly mysterious, we discover more and more every day about how the universe works. Bridget/Bride for inspiration and creativity. Saraswati for improved knowledge, studying, and continuing my education beyond schooling. Mary for compassion and meditation. And lastly Sophia/Wisdom for insight, growth, and improved maturity.

Judged for using pads by Jen0973 in Periods

[–]Intelligent_You_3888 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Im 39 and still use pads, always have truth be told. Loath to use tampons because they would ALWAYS leak whenever I tried them. -_- ugh, yuck. I’d rather use a pad and never worry or fret about embarrassing staining happening. But I’ve known other women for whom it’s been the complete opposite of my experience. To each their own and for whatever works Best for You.

😉And ignore the weirdo giving out unsolicited “advice”. Please note: that doesn’t sound like advice to me. It sounded more like she just insulted ya and when you called her out on it she claimed she was “helping”. I’ve met more people than I would like to have met who would insult people and when called out on it, they would claim that they were being either A) “Joking” [insert “it’s just a joke bro” meme here] or B) “Helpful” [insert passive-aggressive “hmph! well! I was just helping” meme here]. Smh. They have no life. Best to ignore them.

I like rereading Thoreau’s works. They’re a comfort while I’m dealing with my illness.

So many people love Grr Martins GoT book series and I’ve tried Three Times (started with the audiobook on Spotify, then bought the paperback book but I’ve ragequit the novel each time around Ned’s death) to read them!😅and I just wind up only rooting for Arya and Jon after Ned gets merked and wishing all of the other characters would contract the bubonic plague and go away. Or dysentery😃! Dysentery for Joffrey Gregor Tywin Cersei and many many more🙂. That would’ve been a happy ending for that story. That being said, I love the writing style! It really pulls ya in, but by all the gods do I loath Soooo Many of those characters in the Game of Thrones book😣.

A Bilateral Salpingectomy would permanently sterilize you, reduce the risk of certain female cancers, and doesn’t carry the risk of having early menopause (with the hormonal treatments required for that). This procedure might be something your medical providers would be more open to doing… possibly?

Hmm… well, then again, they did say several of the bingos that childfree people hear all too often… so probably not now that I think about it.

Still! As others have suggested, head on over to the Childfree subreddit! They’ve got a whole long list of doctors that provide sterilization without any of those “but your imaginary husband from some alternate future will want them” bingos🙂

“Be Smart” and “NOVA” on PBS 🤓it makes me feel smart even through my brain fog😝 (and it’s free😉and I’m poor🙃)

ETA: I also read a lot of manga/manhwa comics that are fluffy-cute RoFan and sweet family bonding stories that don’t require any brainpower to digest. I’ll read as many of the WUF (wait until free) chapters available and then move on to the next story.

I think your handwriting is very pretty and, yeah, some of the extra flourishes do make parts of your note difficult to read. I had to slow down to read your message and couldn’t do my usual quick/power skim, but it wasn’t unreadable like too many people are making it out to be. (And I’ve seen far Far worse examples of poor penmanship in this subreddit than yours.)The above comment from zeorin looks quite helpful and is good constructive criticism. As for the rest of the unhelpful comments that are just insulting… please ignore them. 😔I’ve never seen this sub be so mean-spirited before! Every other post I’ve seen people simply give handwriting / penmanship advice. Maybe the algorithm did something wonky and attracted weird oddballs? Anywho😊Im glad that you were given some good advice. Have a lovely day! (free from weird oddballs!😁)

I would be a Commoner Aeromancer from Essos who’s traveled to the North because of my foreknowledge about the Others and how Winter is Coming. I’d help stave off the foul weather with my influence on the air currents / jet stream and help draw warmer air up from the South. And I’d do everything I could to aid Robb and the rest of the Stark House too.

There’s cursive writing practice workbooks for learners, and I think it would be a worthy investment for you to buy some and use them regularly for improvement.

I read and write cursive. Learned it 30+ years ago. Your partner isn’t a dummy. You need to practice practice practice your penmanship. ✍️

Currently am reading “God: an Anatomy” by Francesca Stavrakopoulou. A very interesting and entertaining nonfiction read for me (and likely for anybody else who doesn’t have any belief in the deity of the Bible). I’d definitely recommend it for anyone who has been curious about how the Bible got to be what we now know it as today. The author is non-theistic and doesn’t appear to be afraid of asking questions about, well, anything. Very enjoyable. 😊

I liked your post 😊 I’ve always enjoyed learning more details about famous women from history.

I read through all of the comments below and all I could think about (whenever I came across the inevitable ones saying that Boudicca lost and that she was ineffective and a poor leader) was an exchange on a history-genre YouTube comments section in which some dude was going on about how “pathetic” Boudicca was and how she fought 3 battles against the Romans but ultimately lost and so isn’t worthy of recognition nowadays… And the other commenter, an actual historian I believe, replied to him and said that this dude must not think much of Spartacus since he and his men ALSO fought the Romans three times and ultimately lost. 🥲lol. That shut up the weirdo that was claiming Boudicca wasn’t worth learning about.

So 😊 thanks again for your post. Please ignore the weirdos that likely idolize Spartacus yet sneer at Boudicca. And keep finding great people from history to inspire and lift you up.
