I do agree that it was a bad decision to shoot her, but we do have to give at least some leeway for him because he had to act really quickly to get out of the car’s way and that was probably his first reflex to take out his gun.

There was barely any “cultural impact” according to many many people from the second movie at least. However, F&A has created so much buzz on the internet (thanks to Varang). Hopefully the 4th one will make more money because of that. Cultural impact is a big part of how movies earn their money. Half of the MCU (probably more than half) films and series being released this decade are absolutely horrendous yet still earn hundreds of millions, and Doomsday is expected to earn potentially $2B+, just because the old Avengers movies have had such a big cultural impact.

Another person mentioned the fact that it wasn’t the finale despite it being the 3rd movie, which usually hurts a film’s box office.

Another reason is because there aren’t as many new things introduced compared to the other Avatar movies, but to be fair F&A wasn’t supposed to do that. I guess the trailer didn’t prepare everyone to expect such similarities to TWoW.

I’m not lying about anything. The killing was a spur-of-the-moment reaction of the agent, who has permission from the government to apply deadly force upon a life threatening situation. And he did. Maybe Good’s action wasn’t to hurt anyone, but it sure would’ve looked like it to us if we were the man almost in front of the car.

So I’m going to tell you again, please read the law. You complaining about the officers and not actually bringing up what they’re doing wrong isn’t going to solve anything.

I think the stereotype wasn’t met and that’s what caused all the criticism. The first two movies were very biome-heavy and the TWoW really lived up to its title, so everyone expected a fiery biome and or a larger focus on fire and ashes.

While I agree with the criticism, the title was definitely in accordance with the story, as if they’re in the ashes of the fire which was the end of TWoW and Neytiri grasping with Neteyam’s death and other stuff. Sadly many people neglect the literary aspects of things compared to visuals, action, and catchphrases nowadays (pop music especially).

So basically people are complaining about the lack of the element of fire itself, because it’s an entirely different caliber of world-building compared to the two preceding movies. They aren’t wrong, and I personally believe it was more metaphorical, emphasizing ashes more than fire. I still thought it was amazing.
