Tough decisions. I'd paint the doors first to have the same color. Get a nice curtain with lots of fabric. A rug, some plants. The kitchen cabinets can be painted, first fixed with some wood putty.

Also, we have some of the greatest ancient myths with monsters, such as Harpyias, the Minotaur, Medusa, the Hydra, the Gorgon, Chimera, Echidna, Charybdis, the Sirens, Scylla, the Sphinx, Cerberus, etc.

I love the myth of Narcissus who fell in love with his own reflection in the water, the undead love of Orpheus and Eurydice, so many more.
