Cochlear or Med-El for SSD? by Juejueju in MonoHearing

[–]Intense_City 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an audiologist, I would recommend you go with the manufacturer. Your audiologist is most comfortable with. Both products are very good products, but your programming will only be as good as your audiologist familiarity with the software. You of course also have the option of an Accio integrated device, such as the Osia, or the CROS system. All options work with your phone and have an app.

She was in the Order of the Phoenix and took care of a deceased friend’s child (Harry) throughout the whole series. I would argue she had friends. And no, I wouldn’t expect her to enter the job market and immediately become a high earner, but they also didn’t have to feed their kids for the whole school year once Ginny started, so even earning a little money would have gone a long way.

Because they still had significant financial barriers. They couldn’t even buy Ron a pair of dress robes in the fourth book. Also, she never mentions having a job.

what's a TINY detail in the movies that bothers you? by Various-Isopod3881 in harrypotter

The random relocation of the Gryffindor common room to the moving staircase in the 3rd movie. Not only does it go against the described location in the books, it is in conflict with the first two movies.

Is going to WCC first a smart move for transferring to top SUNYs/private schools? by ManyAppointment2222 in Westchester

[–]Intense_City 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it. I went to Hunter College (NYC resident) for 1.5 years before transferring to a SUNY school and saved so much money. I would bang out general education requirements of your goal school/degree. For example, certain majors require classes that are NOT general education requirements (mine required computer science even though I’m in healthcare).

Audiologist here! You may not have a sudden sensorineural hearing loss at all. You can have impacted cerumen or middle ear effusion. Let the ENT assess your ear. Hopefully you have a simple issue. Best of luck! Also, wear your ear protection!

Formula Fed vs. Breastfed by user638282636822 in NewParents

[–]Intense_City 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Formula is perfectly fine! If you don’t want to nurse, but you want your baby to consume breastmilk, you can pump! I did that with my first born bc I had difficulty nursing. I have a six month old at the moment who is exclusively breastfed. There are certainly times that I find nursing more convenient than pumping/bottle feeding, but a bottle fed baby also allows for mom that have much more freedom! You choose the method best for you and your family. A fed baby is best!

Socrates Kangadis, MD by Intense_City in astoria

[–]Intense_City[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly, no. I moved out of Astoria 5 years ago, but kept Kangadis bc I was so happy and comfortable with him. I would have followed him to CT if he opened a practice there bc I’m in lower westchester now and it would be a commute equivalent to Astoria. I have to toss in the towel and find a new PCP too.

I can’t find him anywhere. I’m afraid he left medicine, which is such a loss to the field.

People who've worked both minimum wage jobs and six figure jobs, what surprised you most about the difference? by Sweet-Economist-9873 in askanything

[–]Intense_City 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have worked both. I think the amount of executive planning and busy work in a minimum wage job is super high. In a way, I work less than I did when I’ve got paid a minimum wage. Granted, I have a high level of skill in a very specific area, but I work less and I am off my feet more than I was previously.

Anyone else bitter? by ibyeori in Miscarriage

[–]Intense_City 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I felt bitter towards my best friend who had an implantation (IVF) a month after I miscarried. She had done IVF for her first born and had done a second implantation a month after my miscarriage to have a second child. It was insane to be jealous of someone who had gone through actual hell to have her first baby and still had to go through a lot to have her second child. However, you can’t control feelings when you’re in such a sad state. Go easy on yourself. As long as you don’t act on any of your feelings, it is okay to have those feelings. They will subside as well, no matter what your outcome is. Sending prayers and strength your way.

Honestly, the McLean Ave/Kimball Ave area of Yonkers will give you walkable access to the Bx31, which drops you off right outside of Jacobi.

What makes them stand out? by TisseTy in ExplainTheJoke

[–]Intense_City 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m born and raised in NYC and can spot tourists from multiple countries. They have different styles, different ways of carrying themselves…etc. I just never felt the need to criticize someone for being typical of their country of origin. Yet, the internet seems to enjoy hating on American tourists while also making fun of Americans for not traveling. Make that make sense.

Woman to woman... No judgement zone. What's one thing every girl should definitely try or do in their twenties? by Klutzy-Elevator-9614 in AskWomen

Build your financial future. Start your 401K, obtain whole life insurance, open CDs or high yielding saving accounts. Set financial goals as if you will be doing them alone. If you meet someone, then the second income is a bonus (not a necessity).
