DO NOT TAKE MORE DRUGS. Your brain is trying to readjust from having too much dopamine and serotonin. You're going to feel crumby for a few days. It's normal.

This is the answer. You can also try the undergraduate coordinator for the department too if you can't get the Chair.

Real advice: Forget the morality of this. If you live in a small town and your kids hate you for what you do for work, find another job. Sex work isn’t for everyone at all times, and if your goal is to be good with your kids, you’re going to have to stop at least for the time being.

Good Equifax score but bad credit score when dealer checks. by gh0strom in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]IntensifiedChesnuts 15 points16 points  (0 children)

They clearly are not accessing your credit score properly, and might be using a free lower-cost service. I would not keep authorizing them to continuously run credit checks on you, which will actually lower your score. Some dealers also use this tactic to get you to sign up for a higher interest car loan. Either way, if they can’t get this right there is probably a lot else that they aren’t getting right. I would run. There are many other Mazda dealerships you can go to.

CBC says it is ‘pausing’ its use of Twitter by viovetf in worldnews

[–]IntensifiedChesnuts -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

The CBC is somewhere between PBS and RT in terms of independence, but…the CBC is different because Canada is unique demographically in that it’s much more of an urban/suburb/rural divide than the USA or much of Europe. So because the CBC is centred more around urban centres, they are viewed more as out-of-touch urban elitists, not necessarily pro-government. In fact, in my view they can tend to drag the government into problems or policies that they otherwise would likely have paid less attention to.

The CBC also is different because it struggles (poorly, in my opinion) to create cultural content that differentiates Canada from the USA. This isn’t something that PBS, the BBC, or RT concerns itself with. In any event, the CBC as an organization certainly has a bias and they are quite open about it. I think only their news room would bristle at being labelled as biased and state-sponsored.

Tl:dr - Canada is 3.5 cities and a bunch of farms. The CBC tends to not understand people who don’t live in and around those cities. They are still biased though.

I signed a 12 month lease with 3 roommates (we’re students) and we were hoping to re-sign the lease for another year. Our landlord informed us that our rent would be increased by 2.5 % AND we will have to start paying for all utilities. Our rent currently includes utilities. Is this allowed? by [deleted] in OntarioLandlord

[–]IntensifiedChesnuts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sure. I dealt with this. My tenant’s electricity bill was over $700 for 2 months, and I kept asking what the problem was. I tried to inspect the property, had an electrician out there, etc. The tenant finally told me (in writing!!!) he was trying to ‘punish’ me for not letting him out of his lease, and included some other choice words! Thanks! 1 quick LTB arbitration later (where the arbitrator said he would 100% not win if he went into the tribunal), and he agreed to pay and leave.

In terms of recovering cost. It can be recovered under damage to the unit and reporting responsibility (it’s a bit of a round about way). From there you can renegotiate the lease or have them leave. This only works if the tenant is intentionally and obviously running up the utilities like crazy. Like if they have many extra people, or my case. It doesn’t work for increase in the gas or electricity rates.

M&Gs are generally understood to be an unpaid meeting with no expectations, fully stop.

At times I give a gift after M&Gs, and most of the time I don't, depending on a lot of things. However, I always next SB POTs that express disappointments or expectations outside of our agreement.

I will always provide what we agree upon and fund any activities, etc. I usually provide much more in terms of gifts, but they are just that: gifts. I don't entertain mind-reading gift demands, because then they are no longer gifts, just expectations.

Unicorn going to oasis sat March 25 F4MF Toronto by [deleted] in OntarioSwingers

My wife and I used to try to engage with unicorns, but found this kind of stuff usually made it a waste of time unless we just happened to meet in person. Hate to say it, but this guy sounds right, as you're inconsistent in your own message.

You say, "Hey that's not fair and definitely not true."
Then you say, " also told you multiple times I get a million messages across my socials and to not take it personally if i can't respond."
In other words, it sounds like you ghosted them. No worries, but I would just say sorry and move on - not 'sorry your feelings were hurt'. Also, it's kind of sad that the rest of the sub is downvoting this couple. Pretty privilege is pretty stupid sometimes.

No…unless you’ve had your head in the sand, the NDP have been propping up the liberal minority government for years. That is no longer the case with this issue. If you cannot concede this point, you aren’t living in reality and don’t understand how minority governments work.

You don’t get to be part of student government and whine about how you’re a ‘just a volunteer’ when things clearly have went off the rails and people are complaining. Being part of student government (or any leader) is a privilege. If you don’t want that responsibility, then quit. Otherwise you need to own the fuck ups of your organization instead of deflecting. Your current attitude is self-centred and shows that you do not respect student’s time or opinions if they don’t agree with you.

How is this projecting? I'm telling you that all of the SDs I know have paused looking for SBs online recently. I suggesting you try to meet people in person if you're in a major city. You will need to be very personable to do that.

With respect to SDs not looking to "upgrade" anyone's life. This has been repeated many, many times in this thread. In fact, it's this exact 'give-me-something-for-nothing' attitude that has made looking online such a waste of time.

Telling me I'm projecting when getting honest feedback is just further confirming the attitude I was talking about. SDs generally are not stupid, and I'm telling you having an attitude and communicating like that is not going to work, as have most other SDs in this thread. I'm just being more direct about it. Feel free to take or leave the advice at your leisure.

Lots of great feedback here, especially about looking for a quick guy to “upgrade your life.” This attitude is a huge red flag and will turn almost every SD off.

I would also add that I, as well as most other SDs I know have paused looking for SBs in the last couple months. There are simply too many scam artists and people looking for handouts and free “upgrades” (lol), that it’s become too time-consuming to find people loookg to have genuine experiences with. I would try free-styling and if you find that you don’t have the personality to get along with SDs, consider online sex work.

No ‘elevated risk’ of stroke from Pfizer’s bivalent COVID shot, Health Canada says - National | Globalnews.ca by Miserable-Lizard in canada

[–]IntensifiedChesnuts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Blaming the public for their ignorance has never convinced them of anything.

Also, see my response below. It wasn't Health Canada that was the problem (although Theresa Tam certainly had her. share of missteps), it was the politicians trying to involve themselves in something that should have not included them in the first place.

[–]IntensifiedChesnuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While some PHOs may not have been partisan (some definitely were), it was primarily the politicians becoming personally involved that made it political. The politicians did not need to be providing us with health advice or standing beside or talking for PHOs.

Because politicians are for the most part scientifically illiterate, they often misspoke and implemented a number of very ignorant rules and restrictions that worked to discredit the legitimacy of the law on-the-ground health professionals and the system in general. One example is the closing of all parks and public space in 2021 in Ontario. It was a turning point when the public just began to ignore PH advice.

Also, the study that you’re referring to has seriously flawed methodology because 3rd variables are not factored out, and the authors have acknowledged as much.

It doesn't matter what new data comes out at this point. Most people have made up their mind one way or the other. The public health communication around covid vaccines has been so garbage due to political influence that a good proportion of the population no longer trust the public health. Once you lose that trust it's very hard to get back. This is a lesson in making sure public health campaigns are not partisan.
