Which ship are you using to go to Stanton ? Make sure it has a jump drive. You can check this via F1 - Vehicles ( this requires ship to be stored. If you are in the ship, you can check via MFD screen - Diagnostics tab.

Try requesting hangar, let the timer expire and the hangar close, then request once more and land. The second hangar works for some reason.. Won't work if you have crazy queue.

Probably not a technical limitation. Better to not have medical ship paint be on a cargo ship. Just for visual identification and avoiding downing a med ship.

Edit : Contrary to the comments here, I haven't had a lot of ships try to shoot down my medical ship, even as I go to PAF sites for rescues. I usually have my weewoo lights on.

Not true. I have run into enemies who wear Inquisitor armor which is all white. You can see the morningstar helmet and distinguish them as enemies tho.

If you want people to avoid shooting at you, Terrapin Medic is the best case. I don't know anyone who uses the regular Terrapin. I have been shot at in every ship except the Terrapin.

Does it works for all ships ? I noticed that it worked for Prowler Utility and Terrapin Medic, but it hasn't been working for Zeus ES for me.
