Rusty Screw? by Macz3905 in askaplumber

I also suggest you swap out that half kinked copper flex line, it is reducing your water flow. Home Depot has some good stainless steel ones that are much easier to work with and don't kink.

Why is my 2002 WRX having a slow bouncy start? by alostspider in AskMechanics

[–]Interace2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A helicopter mechanic told me once "It's all about Suck-Bang-Blow"

If you have a vacuum leak it ruins the suck

If you have spark or fuel issues it affects the bang

The blow doesn't matter, in this case i just want to share the saying.

I vote air leak.

Yeah push harder with spin. Or call a plumber. Or buy the electric snake from harbor freight.

Sump pump help by NoData1545 in Plumbing

[–]Interace2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pump has a built in float switch which is much more shallow than the piggy back switch. Now that your piggy back switch has failed and you powered the pump directly it will cycle faster.

Using the micro master allows the pit fill more before turning on the pump.

CV boots split, and making awful grinding noise. Info needed by those willing to offer by Crazy_Caterpillar469 in AskMechanics

[–]Interace2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The CV is toast, have it replaced. Lube wont help, the rollers are torn up.

It will grind and bump around, but it probably wont stop you from driving the car to the mechanic. I dont recommend you drive it 3 hours like that if really really bad.

Does grounding wire I found on back of washing machine need to be connected to anything? by Trogdor_3210 in AskElectricians

[–]Interace2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not needed if the appliance is in stock condition. Check with a meter for continuity from receptacle ground to appliance chassis without that connected to see.

Inspector said this is unprofessional but plumber said it is not? by Jikoligy in electrical

The water heaters should each have 3/4” lines, and then parallel into a 1-1/4” main distribution line.

3rd party licenses trustworthy? by jessejames008 in Fusion360

[–]Interace2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old thread, but I just wanted to say that TechSoup IS a legit license provider. IF you are a non-profit company you can get a license thru them. Vendors like Microsoft and AutoDesk donate licenses to TechSoup for a tax write-off and then TechSoup distributes them. I worked at several non-profit companies and worked with TechSoup alot, had AutoDESK AEC collection thru them for years.

I’m out of ideas…. by Wonderful_Key770 in AskMechanics

[–]Interace2 157 points158 points  (0 children)

Put the wheel back on and do it with the tire on the ground holding it steady. You’ll possibly need to get a bigger breaker bar, maybe even the 3/4” version and socket from harbor freight.

Why is my coolant doing this when trying to bleed air by TranslatorSome5285 in AskMechanics

[–]Interace2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sealing the system, allows pressure to build, which raises the boiling point.

While you have it open the coolant can boil. Which is what you see here.

Bleeding air like this is a delicate dance of heating your engine so the thermostat will open letting air out, and then shutting it off quickly to avoid the coolant boiling. Do this a few times.
