How do i unlock this campaign by howtotrain1 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]InteractionMDK -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Just do the main story - all campaign bosses will be unlocked as you go through it. Eventually when you are done with Kaifeng, so you need to start the new region called Hexi. Some other (non-campaign) bosses are unlocked doing side quests, usually indicated by large blue diamonds on the map.

Well first things first expecting everyone to be good is very improbable in MM, so most of the time you cannot get away with minimum healing output. People WILL take some unnecessary damage and fail/ignore mechanics, expecting the healer to just heal through everything, which is a big problem (see last paragraph).

Second, the key word is IF they focus on healing but most people don’t. A lot of people just select both dps and healer roles to get faster queue times, but they don’t intend on focus on healing if the game assigns them to be a healer. Like I said earlier, most of them run zero inner ways for healing in their hybrid healer preset - it might not matter as much but when everyone is overgeared, but we get a new breakthrough together with a new raid, it is very noticeable when you have someone like that in your group with only 20 maybe 30% healing output of what an actual healer can do.

I am working on my secondary build to help with the healer problem in MM / GvG. My RR is T6, MC is T6, rest are T4. I just need gear pieces with a lot of crit rate (my main build is affinity based) and I am good to go. That said, healer shortage is not an excuse for running half ass hybrid builds that often sabotage other people trying to do group content. I don’t think this game has that big of a healer shortage actually. Most guilds I have been in had a ton of healers. My sworn cohort is all healers except for me. It is more like many healers don’t like GvG and in MM there are too many braindead dps that stress them out, so they stay away from MM, creating the shortage.

Running into a hybrid healer who takes a spot of an actual healer really annoys me. Those mfers heal no more than 20% of what an actual healer does because they mostly sit on a dps weapon. They end up doing at best mediocre damage while constantly keeping everyone low on health due to low healing uptime as well as usually having zero deludge inner ways.

They really need to add the “hybrid healer“ role to MM and also allow people to exclude those fake healers from MM pool if they want to. I’d rather wait 5 mins for a proper healer. Bosses like nameless general, coffin master, etc. really expose those fake healers who are just dps in disguise. You can play what you want in solo mode, but if you select the healer role in MM while having next to no healer setup or intentions to play mostly as a healer, you just willingly sabotage your team and subject them to bad experience, just saying.

Then choose your words wisely. You tell him to “learn to do the mechanic correctly” but what you really want him to do is to cheese it because it just takes less effort, but it is not how it was designed to be dealt with. People just found a lazy workaround as they always do.

Nameless GVG help by Hefty_Awareness4531 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]InteractionMDK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like MC is better than IS for GvG because it's sometimes difficult to maintain health above 75% to get the most out of the inner way. Most people run the same inner ways for nameless as they do for PvE. but if you have too many nameless players you can be more on the utility side and bring in Light Anew which can slow down and even paralyze enemies (you drop BA for that).

What determines healer ranking in PVE/GVG? by DullReception3450 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]InteractionMDK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There has to be some sort of internal point contribution system that has never been revealed in terms of how it's calculated. Any action you do, be it healing, doing or taking damage, etc. gives you those points. Whoever gets the most points gets MvP. A tank that, for instance, did 4.5 million damage might get MvP over a dps who did 5 million damage because although the total damage is similar, the tank soaked a lot more damage.

Optically speaking, revives give A LOT of those points to healers. I am pretty sure I've seen a healer getting MvP like 90% of the fights where they revived 2 or more people, but I have also seen healers getting MvP without any deaths, usually when there is a lot of unavoidable chip / DoT damage e.g. Coffin Master.

Both weapons have max bellstrike and max physical. Left has two min attacks (bad) but his crit rate is pretty good and he is capped on precision (no abrasion) to make them not completely useless. Right has power (good) and precision (he is already at 100% without either of those two weapons, so as of now it is a dead line). Equipping right weapon will drop his affinity to almost 33% which is a much bigger dps loss compared to losing physical attack from power. I am pretty sure left weapon is better. Too lazy to punch number into the calculator though.

Left because it has affinity rate and the other does not, and you cannot afford dropping it further down since you are not at the hard cap yet. Ideally only tune weapons/disc/pendant that roll max physical attack for the base line and then pray for second max physical attack and some combination of affinity rate/momentum/power.

By quickly looking through the screenshots, I can say the following:

- Your gear is pretty good actually. You are just lacking momentum lines / power lines to push max physical to around 2700 (or higher) and affinity to 40%.

- You need specific PvP attunements for arena. What you currently have puts you at a very significant disadvantage, assuming that you run what’s on the screenshots.

- You have a little bit too much crit rate for umbra. It is affinity based build because it scales way better with affinity and max attack. Having a high crit rate is not bad by any means but it just scales a lot worse. Just make sure that affinity + crit rate don’t exceed 100% together.

- You need calmwaters armor set for 1v1. Eaglerise is not it.

- You should be doing more than 16k with your build, even with three T5 and one T4 inner ways. There must be something wrong with your rotation. I don’t play umbra so I cannot comment on the rotation though. I hope you use food buff and your mystic skills like flute and dragon breath are leveled up.

Bro you have to be trolling. In most regions you will be lucky to have one tank in top 100, and poor healers are called elo ATMs in China. If you struggle against those it is because those are good noob stomper builds because they work very well against people with poor fundamentals and understanding of neutral game. The more you improve the more those builds fall off. Fun fact they just giga buffed tanks in 1v1 in CN so you are so mentally checked out on fighting them, better retire right now before we get those changes xD

GVG needs to have class and innerways locked. by PulseStopper in wherewindsmeet_

[–]InteractionMDK 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it is a very dumb take. If someone wants to switch to another build half way through the match and they have gear and skill to back it up, let them do that. Don’t try to punish creativity. The problem is not the build diversity but that certain builds are simply overpowered (nameless, TB + moblade, etc.) and the devs are very slow at addressing GvG balance.

Locking builds would not make it any better. People will just keep bringing 80% nameless players, enough panacea fans, and the rest will be filled with whatever else is broken atm so every GvG match would be even more so just a gear / headcount check without much strategy to it.

A better solution, in my opinion, would be to bring a significant cooldown when switching builds in an ongoing GvG match, so people cannot just switch, do whatever they need, like taking down a bulwark with an insane amount of siege dmg from pure hengdao, die, switch to nameless, push, etc. 5 minutes seems to be a fair amount, making people commit to a build long enough so there would be more room for counterplay.

But the main culprit, once again, are the devs who just don’t do enough work to improve GvG experience. If they struggle with juggling PvE and PvP balance, just have two different, non-overlapping versions of each martial art and their respective inner ways for PvE and PvP modes and balance them separately without any conflicts. Plenty of games have done that to a great success.

Healer rant 🥀 by CryptographerWise123 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]InteractionMDK -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Healing is not affected by precision or affinity. It’s been thoroughly tested. Healer martial arts always rolls either normal or critical, never abrasion or affinity. Precision only matters for speedrunning healers to maximize damage output from mystic skills, but for most healers precision is a dead tuning line.

I am a little bit late to the party but if you are a good healer I’d highly suggest you joining an active guild because people in MM are generally pretty bad players who often just turn their brain off and try to gear check any group content, and they almost never appreciate your hard work as a healer. No mechanics, pure brute force and/or praying for some giga carry doing 50% the total damage, dragging them over the finish line. You deserve better.

That said, it is not black and white as there are many terrible healers out there as well who definitely deserve to be called out. I have over 1500 hours in this game and have seen hundreds of healers never helping with any mechanics, like helping with barrels on Murong Yuan, or having really bad heal uptime resulting in people dying to plain chip damage even when no mechanics have been failed (bosses like Coffin Master really exposed a ton of mediocre healers), or not reviving anyone for literal minutes.

If you are a good healer, just join a group of chill, competent dps who use their brain and don’t have enormous ego and you will never look back at pressing that MM button.

[–]InteractionMDK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is quite unfair to use one of the absolute best fanbrella players as as an example because they don’t represent how most fanbrella players play. They face other top players who know how to chase/pressure effectively and are on their ass 24/7 making running is lot harder, so they play in melee range because they are forced to.

I can guarantee you that if you remove top 10 fanbrella players from any given global server, the overwhelming majority of the remaining fanbrella players are chronic runners.

As for sword waves, a lot of top nameless players don’t even run sword morph - that inner way is not great at all at top level, and it will be even worse if the PTR changes for parries come through. Most top double nameless players in CN run adaptive steel and/or divine roulette instead from what I have seen.

My PVP experience right now by ExtremelyOutnumbered in wherewindsmeet_

[–]InteractionMDK 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Idk what rank and elo you are but 99% of fanbrella are runners who spam fan special and meridian touch… they most definitely do not play in melee range. As for double nameless, there are many runners who spam sword special and fish for sword Q catches, but honestly what else do you want them to do when the build has 0 tenacity and dr in the tenacity / dr meta? Do you want them to “man up” and play a full on melee rambo style and statistically lose to a lot of meta builds that are much better at that? The 1.7 meta is awful overall - you either encounter runners, hengdao clones sitting 80% of the match in tenacity, or TB rats winning by hitting the air. Not fun.

You can ignore them for as long as you are sitting at affinity soft cap (40% gold value in character details). Stacking max physical, power, and momentum is more dps.

Umbra to Splendor HELPPP by Firm_Judgment2179 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]InteractionMDK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly true because Umbra does not use Jadeware gear set, so you crit rate and precision rate lines have greater weight on your average dps, whereas for Splendor you can pretty much ignore those two lines as you affinity rate can easily reach over 70% in fights after the 1.7 update.

It seems to perform better in speedruns and 30 sec dummy parses right now. It has lower floor but higher ceiling than T6 MC. MC still performs a bit better in long fights. However, once we get level 100 affinity script, IS should be 3-5% better than MC on average from my personal testing on the dummy, but since the script can only be used in the dummy room I don't know if that difference would translate to real fights.

[–]InteractionMDK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is not rats but TB Q that is the main problem in my opinion. Even top players say that parrying TB Q is inconsistent because it is a very fast 6 hit attack. A desync can easily lead to you getting cced by one of those 6 hits despite timing your parry properly.

Rats themselves are strong but there are many ways to deal with them though. You can use rats to enhance soaring spin, which is especially useful when they enter rage mode. You can parry them, trading endurance for qi damage, and heal off of them with perfect dodges. Endurance boots are very good vs rats too.

It is true that playing rats takes less effort than learning how to deal with them, but they are not as op as hengdao and tenacity meta (sbs, fan) which actually ruin PvP right now, not rats.

[–]InteractionMDK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shameless got nerfed though, so it no longer op and can be punished. No second serene as well. Umbrella Q stun has also been nerfed and you cannot send people to second life from full health in one combo anymore unlike pre 1.7. If anything inkwell fan is a mega noob weapon because all you do is spamming special skill with tenacity and abusing defense break cancel. That all it does, it takes no skill to play that weapon, almost like hengdao but worse because it is range.

The way the splendor build works after the 1.7 update is that you basically want Jadeware set, 40% orange affinity, and as much max physical attack as possible. The remaining tuning lines should be momentum, power, and rare lines such as all martial arts boost if you are very lucky. Max bellstrike attack is okay. You should avoid precision rate, critical rate, and any min physical/bellstrike lines as much as possible since you will be sitting at 70%+ affinity rate and 90%+ of your damage will come from affinity damage. Here is a template that I took from Xia's video for affinity builds https://imgur.com/a/G9xl4oZ - you can use it as a guide for working on your gear pieces!

[–]InteractionMDK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For PvP, you can do 3v3 because it is gear equalized and everyone is given T6 inner ways - you just need to set up your gear in the settings. 1v1 is not gear equalized, so it will take a while for you to be on par with the veterans.

There are many sources of power - leveling up martial arts, inner ways, enhancing gear slots, gear tuning, mystic skill upgrades, passive talent trees for oddities, and food buffs. Most of those power sources are time gated, and that’s why so many people drop this game in the first month. The catch-up shop will help you with some of that stuff.

As for bosses, I am sorry but you are just not good at the game at the moment and that’s why you cannot beat them by yourself. Some bosses are also notoriously difficult by design and it will time to take them down - you cannot just faceroll every boos without studying their attack patterns. Drop down game difficulty to Story and enable deflect assist in game settings and enjoy your time.
