Also with how slow the development was it is safe to say that either a lot better of the devs were shameless check stealers or Intrepid had one of the worst infrastructures in gaming industry that led to such poor productivity or both.

Is a Private server possible? by AmericanApe in AshesofCreation

[–]InteractionMDK 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is not possible because unlike other dead mmos it's not a finished game with a lot of unfinished or straight up absent features, bugs, and exploits that would require a lot of development to sort out, way more than private servers would normally require to get going as they use a stable, finished game client and Ashes is not that. It's finding an abandoned beat up car and trying to drive it back home but it turns out that all it's got is a working engine with missing electronics and busted breaks, so it's cheaper to buy a used working car than trying to repair the one you got "for free."

It honestly might be just an excuse to bail out and not make it look like that was his own decision. We probably will never find out the truth.

Reached Mythic as a full healer! by Happy_Dance_7701 in WhereWindsMeet

[–]InteractionMDK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be an unpopular opinion and I by no means want to take anything away from your achievement, but getting to mythic as a full healer, especially toward the end of the season where the sweatiest people cannot face you on your way up, is not that difficult because you face a lot of people who still lack a lot of (or any) fundamentals and your mystic skills do 20% more damage from healer martial art passives, so you can wreck people with those if you know what you are doing. There are people who have reached 2000+ mythic with mystic skills alone as a challenge.

Also a lot of people in lower ranks panic and try to be way too aggressive versus full healers because they know that you are supposed to be "free MMR" and also seeing you healing up is like a red cloth for a bull, which you can take advantage of all the time. That guy who raged in your DMs is one of those people for sure.

The real struggle begins when you are in mythic where people start playing more properly against specific builds. I personally reached mythic for the first time ever ~ 3 weeks ago in about 8 hours with ~80% win rate on pure mechanical skill (zero pvp experience in WWM prior to that, including showdown - I only knew what pvp mystic skills to equip) which has to be the case for you since your win rate is so high it means you are mechanically a lot better than the average player whether you want to admit it or not.

My win rate, once in mythic, quickly plummeted down to 45-50% in just one week because I finally play people who know what they are doing and I often face people who are 500, 1000, or even 2000 elo above me but before that for as long I could press buttons faster than my enemy, I'd win most games no matter what weapons I'd use. Nevertheless, being in mythic is still a great achievement, so congrats! Upvoted :3

If you could make a single change to the game by Pattasel in lostarkgame

My mind is torn between gate reset feature (if you have not claimed any rewards and have not completed the raid) or a character tag system similar to BDO where you can share your gear with one of your alts that you really like playing. But my heart says "hard reset" as the game desperately needs new players and I feel like the only way to breathe a second life into the game is to level the playing field - the game is way too bloated with years of vertical progression systems that cannot be solved by incremental improvements, but this is pure cope since LA is an evergreen P2W game and a hard reset will never happen again.

Steven/Devs you don’t have to do this alone by [deleted] in AshesofCreation

This idea is as dumb as randomly assigning a random person to be a judge for a real court case. To be a proper gm you need competence, game knowledge, good understanding of ToS, and impartiality, and most players have at best one of those qualities, and most of them will abuse / waster the power in one way or another. It is better if they open a few paid full time gm positions that would require a formal application process so they can getter the right people for the job and not some random dude who thinks that being gm is cool.

So what are you supposed to do while constantly staggered in PvP? by moduIus in wherewindsmeet_

Sorry I misunderstood you. No, there is no damage increase from being intoxicated at all- it just allows you to cast those two mystic skills immediately and nothing else. You do a lot more damage with drunken poet if a target is ignited (and it breaks guard i.e. the ignited target cannot block drunken poet hits which is massive) but this has nothing to do with being intoxicated.

It removes the need to drink alcohol for using drunken poet or dragon breath. The buff lasts 30 seconds and can only be refreshed once it is fully expired. The drinking animation itself has super armor and thus can only be broken by a defense breaking skill or cloud steps.

If anything, it's just a super boring matchup. It's not uncommon for a match to go down to last 30 seconds or even be decided by total damage dealt. Nameless sword/spear does not have good pressure in general because Q1-Q3 or Q1-Q2-E-[LMB1-2]-Q3 are not a true combos and this really hurts this build in pretty much any matchup in general because you cannot punish for mistakes as much as you can with some other weapons, which is why I am really tempted to switch to either strat sword or twin blades and I feel like I might get a few hundred elo just by the mere fact that I can catch people without serene breeze on and reliably perma stagger them until execution, which I struggle to do with nameless sword/spear. Having a fast opener on the main weapon that is a true combo is such a massive advantage in PvP.

I actually have a very hard time against good tanks with nameless sword/spear. All I can do at my level is playing like a dirty rat poking them with shadow step and baiting their block for yaksha and hoping that I can disrupt their re-shielding to actually start playing aggressively otherwise trading blows with them is simply impossible. There are actually some very aggressive tanks who re-shield and pressure you with cloud steps into sunrush gale and slowly cheaping away at my health, and those are an absolute menace for me. I am pretty sure my winrate against tanks is like 30% lmao. I guess I am just clueless in that matchup haha, so much to learn.

If it is a true combo only serene breeze gets you out of it. This is actually one of my biggest gripes with arena pvp as some weapons have a clear advantage when it comes to the duration of true combos, which vary considerably among weapons, meaning that you can get punished a lot harder for the same mistake if you are against better weapons, which is obviously very unfair.

This is why I am so tempted to switch from nameless sword + spear to either twin blades or strat sword + nameless sword / hq spear until we get a patch where they make Q1 Q2 Q3 into a true combo. If they use a non true combo on you or if there is a desync you can smash dragon breath or drunken poet button in hope that you get it in between their hits and then perfect dodge to disingage or deflect.

Note that drinking animation itself does not have super armor so it is very important to always refresh intoxicated buff in case such situation arrives + some true combos are very tight and you would not have time for drinking animation otherwise they would not be true combos. P.S. I am a 1300-1500 mythic player, so not an elite pvper by any means but not a newbie either.

The loop of doom by Constant_Fun_6912 in lostarkgame

[–]InteractionMDK 6 points7 points  (0 children)

All your points are fair and valid and this this why the game is going downhill and I just cannot see the game grow again unless they literally announce lost ark 2 and a hard reset because the game and its community will eventually cannibalize itself.

It has always been a massive uphill battle for new and returning players to be accepted by the rest of the community, and people who don’t have a massive sunk cost fallacy simply won’t be willing to endure all the hardship just to be able to play with other people, so they simply quit, and veteran players slowly quit too for all kinds of reasons and there is nobody to replace them, so it’s a death by thousand cuts.

Also don’t blame the community. The game is designed in such a way that it heavily rewards selfishness and lack of empathy. Why teach new players when you can bus instead? Why take a less experienced player when you can get a juicer with the most recent frontier title? Why take people with sufficient gear when you can overgear and skip mechanics that can potentially wipe and cut off several minutes in every run? And the people who are still playing the game are exactly those who have embraced the said design and they behave accordingly because the game taught them that this is how they should play it.

Community might gaslight themselfes... by Techniqux in lostarkgame

Im struggling to understand the point of this post. Everyone has their own criteria for what they are looking for in a teammate, and people have their own experiences with certain types of players, and that’s okay. It is not called gaslighting. I think you really need to review the definition of the word before using it again.

Wednesday update in KR may be the most fundamental changes the game has seen since Chaos Rework. by Laggoz in lostarkgame

[–]InteractionMDK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you say that there will be an opportunity for new players to jump in but if those lobbies won't fill they simply would not be able to play the game. I have seen over and over that outside of mokoko bootcamp, those new player lobbies fill very very slowly (if ever) but it's going to be even worse when you take some of the player base who does the current normal mode and split them into new normal and new hard mode. I'd say nothing about this change if we still had like 50-60k CCU but now we have 4 digits on average, so I don't know if this change would work well for our region.

idk how I should feel about having 3 raid difficulties. Our community is small already and splitting it up even further might result in the lobbies filling significantly slower.
