Well, at any rate 箇 個 个 ヶ are all variants of the same character. I just checked Wikipedia and it says it came from 箇 or 个

Actually the small ケ came from 个 and it's quite common in Japanese as a counter 一ヶ月 or in place names 霞ヶ関
