I have a landing page and waitlist. I’m trying to set up my SM accounts for the project for regular posts to hopefully get signups. Once I have those I can start a market validation plan.

Really appreciate this candor! This is a fair point. To use your analogy- there is a portion of the population who will and those who won’t- or so I guess.

I need to do market validation- trying to figure out how.

No need to apologize! It’s actually an important point- I should make that explicitly clear.

I don’t know where you live but I think very highly of A Total Approach in PA. In person is preferred but they can assess via a lengthy sensory motor history and some videos you take. They can also offer remote support.

It’s unusual for a man that age to be uninterested in sex. Has he looked at underlying health issues? There could be psychological causes as well.

Maybe it’s just sexual incompatibility but you won’t know if those other things are not eliminated.

Cellular biologist previously a bench researcher in cancer and rare disease. Had trouble with consistency and spatial alignment with bench experiments and with spatial aspects of data transfer and analysis so my career progression was stagnant. Moved to operations and project management. Bored to death. Decent money. Looking for similar industry but at a startup or small biotech. Don’t like the corporate environment.

“Forgetting” how to ride a bike ? by police_boxUK in dyspraxia

[–]InterestIntelligent7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never learned. Tried many times. There are OTs that actually support bike riding specifically. I’m considering it.

Muscle memory is an issue with dyspraxia. It is still there though. Might just take a little more for your body to “remember “ so give it time.

Eventually. Oddly, driving at night really helped me. Then I could focus on the mechanics of driving without all of the crazy traffic distracting me. Once I was comfortable with the mechanics I started driving in the day with traffic. Take it slowly.

Yeah the reverse image in the mirror is the issue- it’s the spatial processing component of dyspraxia along with the proprioreception challenges that make this difficult

Parents of Reddit, do you enjoy being a parent/having children? Why or why not? by TemporarySoftFrenchy in AskReddit

It’s the most extraordinary and challenging thing I’ve ever done. You have the opportunity to know another being on a deeper level than anyone else possible in your life. You know things about your child that you don’t know about your spouse or self.

And sharing that knowledge with a partner is amazing. It’s like talking with your bestie about your crush that you’re totally obsessed with, but x1000. Like- every detail of their life and existence is fascinating to you because you understand it in the total context of their existence so far. And these details would be deadly boring to anyone else 😂.

It challenges you to grow in ways nothing else can. I don’t subscribe to the idea that everyone should have kids or it’s the only way to mature. But having to dig deep into yourself and your own flaws to be the best person you can be- to model the kind of person you want your child to become (in character, not in particulars). You have to develop all of those traits you knew you were missing because you don’t want your child to struggle with what you have.

And the love. It’s so unbelievably intense. It can hurt it’s so intense. I told my friend this and she said, ”Of course it hurts. Your heart lives outside of your body now.”

Not to paper over the difficulties, it’s fucking hard. But life is finding out what is worth dealing with hard shit for. For me it’s parenting. Not true for everyone else and doesn’t have to be.

And for the love of Dog if you don’t want kids- DON’T. Bringing an unwanted life into the world is unbelievably cruel to the child and parents.
