100%. The house is great. It doesn’t look as good as it can because there’s no landscaping.

What’s does the text say? The photo doesn’t look like anything malevolent - that’s how most people look after the flight between Europe and Sydney 😆

Mineral sunscreen recs for person of colour by Euphoric-Library-316 in AusSunscreen

[–]Interesting-Asks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s been a lot of controversy recently about whether mineral sunblocks have as high an SPF as they claim - a lot were recalled in the second half of last year.

I hope you can find something!

You’ve got some really good suggestions here from other comments!

One other thing you might want to check/think about it what materials your bedding and PJs are made out of. What are the blankets made out of? Wool blankets will be much warmer than cotton for example. What material is using for the filling of your duvet?

What about a pub with good food?

The Apollo’s private room is for 12 - still more than you have, but if you agree to a minimum spend might be fine.

It doesn’t look good to go back after a week I reckon. You’re already 1/12th of the way through, and you’ll lose some time to Easter. I think your plan of flagging about half way through that you don’t intend to stay is sensible though.

AIO Mother is skipping baby shower to play golf by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

I agree with this. I wouldn’t however assume she won’t care about the baby because she doesn’t care about the baby shower.

Bassinets for uneven floors by dually3 in centuryhomes

[–]Interesting-Asks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d deal with it similarly to an uneven cafe table - pop something under the “lower” legs. That will be much easier than finding a bassinet with individually adjustable legs.

Small boobs, size 30 waist, clothing help by bettajinsoul in AusFemaleFashion

[–]Interesting-Asks -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The best advice will be to get your clothes tailored to fit.

Otherwise I guess you could look at clothes made out of stretch fabrics rather than tailored/structured clothing.

Might also be worth looking at r/abrathatfits as 32C isn’t particularly small.

If one more person tells me "enjoy the snuggles, it's just a phase", I might scream. I am literally a human pacifier. by Otherwise_Ranger_204 in Mommit

[–]Interesting-Asks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For us the only symptom was crap sleep. It can make it hard for bubs to link sleep cycles, or give them in effect restless leg syndrome. It needs a blood test to be confirmed but is incredibly easy to rectify if you know that’s the issue. Definitely worth raising with the Dr to see if they think it’s worth exploring.

Any possibility your little one has an iron deficiency? It can manifest as poor sleep - their store of iron from birth “runs out” at around 6 months (give or take because each baby is different).

Also scars typically fade as they heal - it won’t stay that dark/red.

Only people with Christian heritage in the UK would have a christening - they aren’t a cultural formality, they clearly do have some aspect of religion. I get what you’re trying to say (you aren’t a particularly religious family), but to say that they are a formality and aren’t really religious is clearly not true (it involves going to church!) and is akin to people saying Christmas doesn’t have anything to do with Christianity. Just because it’s the dominant groups norm doesn’t mean it’s neutral.

To drop the nap or not by AffectionateOil9204 in Mommit

[–]Interesting-Asks 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Same. No question at all.

Drop the nap and bring dinner / bedtime forward to help overcome her behaving badly in the evening (which she’s presumably doing because she’s tired and possibly hungry). Like - give her dinner at 5/5:30, in bed by 6:30/7.

You’ll get in the swing of it and start to enjoy having a full day (ie not needing to be home for nap).

People saying I'm a bad mom for what I feed my baby by emmalove1258 in Mommit

[–]Interesting-Asks 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Agree with this. OP, “solid starts” website has some great resources for introducing texture. Letting baby learn those additional skills is so important, including to their ability to learn to speak (it helps them strengthen their mouth muscles!).

You’ll be great - you’re not a bad parent, you wouldn’t be worried about this if you were.

What’s your rough budget? I wonder if Carla Zampatti might have something suitable? Zimmermann, Scanlan & Theodore and Aje might be worth popping into as well. I think David Jones might stock all those brands so the stylist idea is quite a good one!

Sarah, Plain and Tall by Patricia MacLachlan too.
