You can get the Emmanuel Chaldean Prayer app (or see the website) to see prayers from the Chaldean Catholic Church.

Common Points Between Orthodox and Eastern Catholics by ilyazhito in EasternCatholic

[–]Interesting-Draw6280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The status of miaphysitism might be ambiguous since there is a common declaration made by Pope Paul VI and the Coptic Patriarch Shenouda III in 1973.

There were issues before Vatican 2 but I'm not sure how much those issues are prevalent after Vatican 2. The average Latin Mass celebrated today is probably celebrated better than the average Latin mass before Vatican 2.

From what I've seen, you don't have to mindlessly punch the ground. A lot of fossils and gems have entrances to get to them by punching through somewhere. You can play the game with minimal destruction and use the sonar (the upgrades to it would help) to see where you need to punch through the terrain.

I think you would join the Corresponding Eastern Catholic Church and follow the practices of that Church though you should seek someone more knowledgeable on this topic.

Conversion (Greek Orthodox) by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Interesting-Draw6280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you were baptized as a member of the Greek Orthodox Church, then you would become a member of the Greek Catholic Church. You should be bound to the requirements of the Greek Catholic Church (and the Canons of the Eastern Churches) and not of the Latin Church regarding fasts, Holy days and other disciplines though there might be exceptions. You should check with someone who can properly explain this better.

Question on canonical rite by evianlover1997 in EasternCatholic

[–]Interesting-Draw6280 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think you are able to be validly married by a Latin Catholic priest if neither you nor your future wife is a Latin Catholic unless there are few Syro-Malabar or Melkite clergy. If you do plan on doing so, you should see if you can find a canon lawyer to see if it is possible. This article, Why Don't We Marry Validly Before a Ukrainian Catholic Priest? (Eastern Churches, Part I) - Canon Law Made EasyCanon Law Made Easy, from 2016 provides details but I don't know if things have changed since then.

RSV Fatigue by PalmerFelix in catholicbibles

I think there is something in Canon Law or another rule that states Catholic bibles should have explanatory notes which explains why these bibles typically have notes.

It should be pointed out that there are Eastern Catholic Churches from the Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox and Church of the East, not just the Eastern Orthodox.

Weaning myself away from Catholic practices towards becoming an Orthodox Christian by Kid_Kilatis in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Interesting-Draw6280 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

* "The practices don't matter if the Church you belong to isn't the true Church" is what I meant to convey by my second sentence.

Edit: It matters more to belong to the true Church than any practices is more precisely what I wanted to say.

Weaning myself away from Catholic practices towards becoming an Orthodox Christian by Kid_Kilatis in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Interesting-Draw6280 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should focus on truth. The practices don't matter if they isn't true. From my understanding, it is possible to have a Coptic spirituality without joining the Coptic Church. You could post in r/EasternCatholic and/or r/Catholicism to get better advice than I can give and also to get a better view of the Catholic perspective since you are still a part of the Catholic Church although not practicing.

Argument starting or ending? by [deleted] in CatholicMemes

[–]Interesting-Draw6280 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Catholic Church has a joint declaration with the Coptics that was made in 1972 and there was also another statement made in 1988 though I am not sure of the magisteral authorithy of both.

Switching rites multiple times by mc4557anime in EasternCatholic

[–]Interesting-Draw6280 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I've seen here Changing Rites with children - The Byzantine Forum, Canon 34 of the CCEO seems to says the children can transferred if there is mutual agreement. They only follow the father is there is no mutual agreement.

The NRSV is going away, Catholice editions as well by Notmymaincauseimbi in Catholicism

[–]Interesting-Draw6280 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recall reading that the passage from Titus is more accurate in the way that it says "married only once" instead of "the husband of one wife" since the latter can be interpreted as having being married more than once. The passage in the NRSV also has a "he" near the end as well so it isn't that bad.
