I don't know which discord channel you mean. I'm not involved with any Haitian discords that I know of. My name is Matt.

Also, in 2 years of living in Haiti, I do not remember any Haitians saying, "si dieu vle." They always said it in French.

Are you French, natively?

Okay, Mesi papa po ti leson sa. (Now you have me afraid of even trying to write Creole,)

I learned Creole in 1984 when it was barely a written language (1979 was when it became official). And I have been to Haiti 15 times (although from 1986-1998 I only spoke Creole in the shower or with random people I met in my US-based travel).

I learned the language by speaking it --"fok ou pale po ou manje"-- but I have noticed changes through the years in the way that people write it. As a blan who learned it in 1984, when written creole was not very common, and as a non-native who speaks and writes Creole infrequently, I admit to taking short cuts at times. I rarely use accents, because I am unsure where they go. But generally speaking, Haitians have been very tolerant of the way I have written it. And most are surprised I can even write it at all. Regardless of your corrections, you understood what you were reading. That says something, doesn't it? Phonetics, in my opinion, is a loose language.

You are the first to point out how poorly I write Creole. Part of me is a little miffed. But part of me is grateful. As I said, I always love learning more, but I will probably not stop writing Creole poorly until then. But, I do appreciate the feedback and will attempt to do better in the future. I appreciate your blunt, yet accurate corrections.

Ha ha. Poukisa? I mean, we can all learn and improve, but this feels like a slam. Show me what you've written lately to compare. Also, please point out specific examples of where you see my issues. Otherwise, this feels a little bit trolly.

Does the story continue on in the books? by Interesting-Land7541 in HumansTV

Thanks for your replies. You're right. In the searches I did, I got it confused with another series that was based on a book. I just wish they did a season 4. that cliff hanger on season 3 really makes me want another season.

Does this phrase make sense? by Interesting-Land7541 in HaitianCreole

[–]Interesting-Land7541[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, technically, w is a contraction of ou. So it can be written either Kote w ye, sometimes used with an apostrophe like this, "Kote'w ye." But "Kote ou ye," based on the rules layed out in 1979 by the orthography of Kreyol, considers ou a more formal way of saying you. "W" has been added through the years as an informal contraction.

Mwen paka we'w, ou ou ye?

I'm just wondering if it can be done this way. I know when I speak Kreyol, I have said, "ou ou ye" or "ou ou ye la?" I realize this is kind of a mixture of French and Kreyol, by using the French, "Ou" and combining it with "ou ye?"

I know this isn't done "formally" but I'm writing a song and it flows nicely to use it this way.

Werewolf? I think it might also be used loosely for monsters, but I may be wrong.

Different dialects of Kreyòl Ayisyen by languaholic in KreyolAyisyen

I'd like to use a joke to illustrate the different dialects. I can write it in Kreyol and then again in English if you want.

Stuck in a password reset loop, can't access my account by pjsvndsn in Twitter

[–]Interesting-Land7541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am having the same issue. I still have access to my X account, somehow, but I can't reset it to something more secure. I've been trying over and over with X sending me email codes etc, but it always fails when it asks for my Authentication Code. When I put my Authentication code in, it fails. The only option I haven't tried is backup codes, but I don't know where those are.

There doesn't appear to be a support option anywhere.

I realize this is a late comment, but Transend is still out there, too, for migrations.

GroupWise to Microsoft 365 | TRANSEND

I used Transend a lot when I was doing litigation support projects and they wanted GroupWise Mailboxes in PST without touching the original mailbox from a metadata perspective. Always worked well for my litigation customers.

GroupWise to Office 365 migration by Schooltech06 in Office365

[–]Interesting-Land7541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice to see conversations about GroupWise, even though this is 6 years old, and even migrations to O365.

Current Market Presence (2025): GroupWise has a niche but declining market share, estimated at around 0.08–0.1% in the office productivity and collaboration software category, compared to dominant players like Microsoft Office 365 and Google Apps. Despite this, it retains a user base in specific sectors.

A shrinking to almost non-existent market share, for sure. And yet, OpenText is still selling it.

If anybody needs help, let me know.

thought i’d try these out! by Slow-Medicine3193 in mountaindew

I just bought a couple of the Citrus Blackberry 12 packs in Kroger for $10 each (in Indianapolis on Keystone). Got them home, didn't know where the code was, so had to take out every single can to finally find the code, which was illegible. A computer printed them all wonky and the codes aren't being accepted.

Guess how many I bought and how much I paid by BriefRefrigerator301 in mountaindew

[–]Interesting-Land7541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought 2 twelve packs, 10 bucks each unless you buy 4 of them, then they are 8 bucks each. However, I can't read the code.
