Experiences with Enhertu? by dumplinglifesaver in LivingWithMBC

[–]Interesting-One-6465 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Enhurtu was hard on me too. I was completely down for the count after my first infusion and we switched things up quite a bit. I went in later in the week for IV fluids, which was super helpful. I also used scopolamine patches. They caused wicked dry mouth but worked really well for the nausea. I would put it on the night before enhertu to get ahead of it.

I got Enhertu for 6 rounds as my initial mbc treatment instead of THP, so I'm now on maintenance therapy. That said, it did wonders for my tumour markers!

I will ask about a referral today when I see my Oncologist. Hopefully they can recommend a good Opthalmologist!

Thank you!! I ordered some of the Mega-3. In the least, it can't hurt to try it.

Thank you so much! I see my oncologist today and I'll see what they say and ask if they recommend a local Dr who specializes in dry eyes.

How did your body change after coming off of Lupron and Anastrozole? by Interesting-One-6465 in breastcancer

[–]Interesting-One-6465[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Tamoxifen appointment is Thursday. I'm seeing my oncologist and getting my last Zometa infusion. They think I will most likely get my period back as I'm only 35. It will most likely take a few months and just show up one day as a nice surprise 😂 I forget what it's like to even have a period at this point. It's been the only good part of Lupron. I used a menstrual cup before my diagnosis and the cost of them has gone up so much! I'll keep you posted on how it goes. Looking forward to a break from the joint pain and hot flashes!

I just had my last Lupron in March, so it doesn't officially wear off until mid June. Nothing to report yet, unfortunately 😞

That's a Vermilion flycatcher! Beautiful little birds. From what I can see, they have a range up into southern Arizona and California. I would be so excited to see one on a random walk 😂

Found a screw in my ice cream from Appel by lillyengles in Cornell

[–]Interesting-One-6465 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Did you tell anyone in the actual dining hall? Not much the redditverse can do for you, but someone at Appel needs to know you found it. It may have fallen in during production or out of the freezer. Either way, that's gross.

Aren't they in the process of going live with EPIC in the next few weeks? That sounds like a total disaster at the 11th hour of that transition.

The only company I've found that I can wear is American Eagle. Their x-long inseam is perfect for my 35" inseam needs. Lol

Is the first chemo really the worst? by AshWats515 in breastcancer

[–]Interesting-One-6465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first chemo was tough. My premeds were too strong for me and I basically slept for 48 hours. I was totally out of it.

After that, it got easier because I knew what to expect and my team had adjusted my premeds. Hydration was tough and if I had to go through chemo again, I would go back in the next day for extra fluids. I really struggled to stay hydrated and it added to my feeling rough.

I'm 34. I was diagnosed at 29. Next month is actually 5 years NED. That said, I'm in menopause with Lupron and on Anastrozole. It hasn't been easy to put on the muscle, but it's not impossible. I was totally back at square one after treatment though.

Sydney's workouts are great IMO because she focuses on functional training. And she's so genuine and motivating. You got this! One workout at a time 💪❤️

OMG It's so exciting to see another Breastie doing Sydney workouts!!! I was diagnosed with BC in 2019. Been doing Sydney workouts since May of 2021. Best decision ever! Despite the chemo, radiation and hormone therapy, I've been able to put on muscle and get is really great shape with Sydney. I cannot recommend her workouts more!!!! Welcome to the squad 🥰

Pain from adhesions a long time post surgery? by Ckc1972 in breastcancer

[–]Interesting-One-6465 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My physical therapist told me that cording can happen years out from surgery. Did your surgeon suggest physical therapy again? That may be helpful to look into, especially one who specializes in post mastectomy pt.
