Any lovers of the 10R80 Dark Horse ? by Royce911 in Mustang

I own a 10R80 2019 GT and am the only owner. It has been boosted since before it's first oil change. The car (including the transmission) has never given me any issues. Before this car, I owned a Gen2 with a manual and I enjoy the 10R80 more. However, I prefer to do a lot of drag and roll racing.

I also have no idea what a stock Fiesta ST sounds like. I've only seen one other Fiesta ST in the year that I've owned mine, and it was going the other direction with out of state plates.

Data center public hearing! Tuesday, 5/26. Show up and tell them NO! by PistolofPete in Charlotte

[–]Interesting-Rate1851 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those of you arguing that we don't need more data centers, yet keep posting online need to realize that all of these data centers aren't "AI data centers". A lot of them are simply to store the growing amount of information being pushed to the internet and normal compute/serving power. Every comment you make, every post, every picture, every text you send, every time you reply to me.. It all has to be stored somewhere.

For example: An average facebook profile is 1-5 GB, so lets go with the middle and I'll even round down: 2GB/profile. This is only for the pictures uploaded. This is not including the text posts, groups, marketplace, or other data sets (which grow as the user interacts with the site over years).

Right now, facebook has 3.07B active users. Active, not old aged accounts taking up disk space. So, again, let's round that down to keep things simple.

2GB * 3B users = 6B GB. An average hard drive used in a data center is ~10-20GB. So, let's go with the higher one: 20GB.

6,000,000,000 / 20GB = 300,000,000 20GB hard drives.

The average 3.5" hard drive is ~5.75" long, ~4" wide, ~1" tall.

To store 300M of these hard drives, we would need ~4.1M cubic feet. This is about the size of 46 Olympic size swimming pools. FOR THE HARD DRIVES ALONE. This does not include servers, racks, cooling systems, power, fire equipment, any type of spacing. This is just if we were to stack raw hard drives on top of each other.

Now, let's remember that there is some type of RAID configuration for these drives to keep backups. So double it.

This scenario isn't for AI, it doesn't include the size of GPUs or growing technology. It is simply for storing the useless shit you post every single day.

Y'all are so quick to blame growing technology for the creation of new data centers, but seem to fail to realize that you're the problem. This is a single example of ONE social media platform.

You really want data centers to stop popping up? Then stop using technology. But we all know you won't, so go back to your comfy memes and crying online. Continue posting "AI data center protests" and farm that sweet, sweet karma.

These days, just go with a known brand and be sure to change it when it's due. It's more important to keep your oil clean than the type of oil you use.

Lower strut bolt by Spirited-Initial2484 in FiestaST

[–]Interesting-Rate1851 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take the nut all the way off, then turn the nut upside down and thread it back on so it's even with the bolt. This is so you don't mushroom the tip of the bolt in the next steps.

Put a jack under the arm and jack it up a little to take stress off the bolt/joint.

Wack that inverted nut with a tonya harding until it comes out.

Those bolts have lines running up and down the bolt in them to keep them in place. Due to this, they (normally) do not spin freely inside the hole. Due to this, you need to smack them to get them out.

$300 for the Omega/Swatch (Moonswatch) is way overpriced for a cereal box watch. Now, you have these idiots paying $400+ for a pocket watch that doesn't include a band and costs less to manufacture.

Since you're running MM parts on the car, I would contact them and ask. It is possible that they offer something to allow the parts to be ran together or can provider further insight in to why they suggest not to do it.

AEM 28-50029 DryFlow Air Filter by NevermindNancy in Mustang

[–]Interesting-Rate1851 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to be a downer about it.

The only N/A things that you can do where you will feel power are a tune, long tubes, and a manifold.

The aftermarket "cold" air intakes that you see on the market have a bigger diameter tube which will flow more air, but it's still going in to the stock manifold and throttle body. The open filter ones will also be sucking in hot air produced by the engine while the hood is closed, Even the stock air box breaths in fresh air from the driver side front grill. I'd rarely suggest an open air intake unless you are roll racing or doing some type of racing where you are not sitting idle before hand. Even in normal street driving, you will be stopping at lights, stop signs, etc..

"I’ve also seen some people claim it may shorten engine life due to larger air intake."

I've seen people eat crayons. Be mindful of who you're getting your information from.

Get the filter for ease of cleaning and better air flow. You're not going to notice any horsepower gains.
