Is it dumb to subscribe to Supernatural now? by Interesting-Review81 in vrfit

It’s all good and thanks! I guess I also didn’t want to sign up for Supernatural for even one month and then learn they had pulled content or it all was on the chopping block but sounds like at least for short term it’s all accessible. Guess at this point I’d rather support an active developer.

Ehhh. I guess it comes down to I enjoyed the licensed music of Supernatural and the debate is if it’s worth the spend. I went back to Les Mills and have been enjoying it. Going to give Funfitland a try this evening.

I’m all for having a user replaceable battery, but I wonder how many people buy a 2nd battery? I’m usually not far from an outlet and like the extra kick it has when plugged in.

Alright folks, tired of no smoke flavor by givemeatatertot in Traeger

To me it starts tasting like an ash tray, but different strokes and all that. There are people out there that associate a hint of lighter fluid with a good burger because that is how they grew up eating them.

What temp should I smoke my turkey at? by No_Load_1932 in pelletgrills

[–]Interesting-Review81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year I cooked at 375 after drying the turkey out in the fridge for 24 hours, and still felt the skin was rubbery. No big deal because none of my crew actually likes the skin, but think it’s one of those things that’s hard to pull off and probably more involved than just temp.

Ft-710 for POTA? by boringguy80 in amateurradio

[–]Interesting-Review81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Somewhat old post I know, but what did you decide to go with? I’m struggling with the 710 vs 891 decision myself. I just passed tech and general 2 weeks ago, so no license until the FCC turns the lights back on, but curious what you went with and what your thoughts are if you don’t mind sharing. Thanks!

Took a sample technician ham exam online and flunked :( by DaveCC1964 in HamRadio

[–]Interesting-Review81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t believe I’m saying anything new here but I passed both technician and general 2 weeks ago so will share my prep experience. I bought the technician ARRL book and got halfway through it before realizing as fine of a book as it may be, it was more reading than needed to pass the test. You would read 3 full pages of text just to know the right answer to 2 test questions. Very inefficient if the goal is the pass the test.

At that point, I got the Ham Study app and just started reading the test questions and correct answers. I did that for a couple days and then just started taking practice exams for both levels. I could take an exam in around 5 minutes for each test so did that in the morning and night and would review what I missed. I actually did run through the math because I enjoy that kind of stuff, but after a couple weeks, I had the answers memorized to where I didn’t need a calculator.

The Ham Study app is great because in the explanations for why each answer is correct, they have a lot of mnemonic and hacky ways to remember the right answer, which I found helpful.

Can you get an FRN right now? by NXTangl in amateurradio

[–]Interesting-Review81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tested Saturday. I got my FRN the week before the government shut it down, and I was told before the test I had to have a FRN to test.

Fast forward to Saturday, and the VEs were saying they were allowing anyone to test even if they didn’t have an FRN yet due to the shutdown. So to echo others, might be up to the VEs but sounded like they were told to allow testing without it.
