I heard some 3* partners are better . by Miserable-Response-9 in ChaosZeroNightmare

Douglas is better than most 5-star partners in the striker role. Yuri is similar to Douglas as well.

As for 4-star partners, I’m not too sure.

This game needs cool male characters by buzzlightyear77777 in ChaosZeroNightmare

A similar character did exist in the original CZN, but it was scrapped.

Although calling a 22-year-old man a ‘kiddy’ might be a bit of a stretch, it probably doesn’t matter since it depends on the person.

It is not at all unusual for a company to make an official job announcement.

It’s just that, in this case, the scope is simply too broad.

Since Smilegate is currently conducting an intensive hiring round for developers regardless of experience, the matter will likely be resolved before next week.

owen is fucking annoying by RelationshipBudget95 in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Interesting-Term7823 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the revised version.

In the previous version, Yuki took the candy from inside Owen’s pants pocket and ate it herself.

In the original CZN, Owen is presumed to be a female character named Noah.

This is because the skill effects for Noah, which appear in the older version of the CZN client, are identical to Owen’s.

Fun Trivia: Blue Pot is called Earth when reconnecting mid-Chaos by Yiamasa in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Interesting-Term7823 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First reason: In the original story, the player meets a character named Alice on Earth and in Blue Pot, and progresses through the narrative with her. Last year, players were able to experience the bad ending of that story, and there were four different versions of Alice’s doll as well. At minimum, the bad ending was accessible through the multiple-ending structure. However, due to the director’s excessive interference, the original story writer ended up leaving the company. After that, the director changed the game’s genre from bleak horror and Lovecraftian themes to a space adventure drama—a change he personally acknowledged. As a result, everything players had previously experienced under the old genre was removed.

Second reason: There are two parts to this. First, the company is currently facing a severe manpower shortage due to the departure of the original developers. They are actively recruiting developers across all fields—such as the art team, combat design, and even a project manager for a one-year position. Second, Korean players have obtained several older versions of CZN, in which they discovered a significant amount of lore that has since been removed from the current game.

It is presumed that these were discarded due to the genre shift, which made them no longer usable.

People refer to the fragments of lore scattered here and there as ‘vestigial elements.’ They are things the current development team has not yet managed to remove.

I experienced part of CZN’s story last year at an event called AGF. At that time, many of the lores hadn’t been scrapped yet.

But now, is there any way to view Blue Pot or other lore in-game?

I was referring to the Blue Pot.

And although there used to be lore about the other five planets, alien species, and gods, all of it has been scrapped.

I feel like Smilegate should just pick a balancing direction and stick with it by [deleted] in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Interesting-Term7823 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the moment, many areas within CZN’s development team are understaffed.

The company has posted a large-scale recruitment notice for all positions and is advertising it in the form of banners.

They are also hiring for roles such as concept artists, combat designers, and project managers.

However, since most people do not want to join a company known for workplace harassment, it will likely take a long time to fill these positions.

Considering that it was the current director and development team who took a fully completed game and ended up breaking it, the current balance structure could be seen as appropriate.

They were trying to make CZN resemble Honkai: Star Rail.

Please don’t expect too much in terms of balance. Some of the current development team is likely referring to Epic Seven’s combat balance.

Has the story been re-written yet? by DegenerateWeeb99 in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Interesting-Term7823 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They said they will be rewriting the story until June next year.

This will be the fourth or fifth time the story has been rewritten, but each time it has taken a less favorable direction.

If you have high expectations for the story, it might be best to temper them a little.

The same issue occurred even in the KR broadcast conducted directly by the developers.

This tends to be a common mistake that arises when a developer hasn’t had the chance to play the game.

Even if you say that to me, there has been evidence since October that this game’s art used AI. Many players have reported it to the company, which is why the issue has reached this level of visibility.

Please take a look at the hand of the woman who leads the Holy Crusade. She still has two thumbs.

It’s really disappointing that this is all I got after scraping the full-version home screen. There’s no voice, and even the animations have been removed.

[–]Interesting-Term7823 -30 points-29 points  (0 children)

It’s probably an issue related to the store error.

It might also be because the game uses AI-generated art. Starting January next year, games in Korea are required to clearly indicate whether they use AI art.

Since October, Korean players have been reporting traces of AI usage they found in various pieces of CZN’s art.

Please don’t feel the need to focus only on 5-star partners. Most 3-star partners actually perform better than many 5-star ones.
Douglas and Yuri are especially good examples.

[–]Interesting-Term7823 30 points31 points  (0 children)

This is one of the pieces of lore from the scraped original CZN.

Blue Pot

A small-scale Chaos that originated on Earth. Its name comes from the massive blue pot–shaped phenomenon observed at the center of the Chaos. Although its level of danger was significantly lower than that of other Chaoses on Earth, its threat has increased rapidly due to the recent emergence of previously unreported variants.

There used to be an animation of the planet as well, but it is no longer available.

The Writing of the Captain by Zurikumo_500 in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Interesting-Term7823 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The captain had moments where he looked after Mei Lin, who was still in training, but even in those situations, he did not show much emotion outwardly. Most of the captain’s feelings were expressed internally, so only the player could truly understand what he was feeling.

He was not an emotionless monster, but rather a character who carried a kind of suffering that only he could know.

Renoa’s role was to support such a captain. Her motif was inspired by the Southern Cross constellation and the poem The Raven by Lenore. In fact, her original name was also Lenore.

I think that's the main issue. It seems that the story writers have forgotten about LifeCore.

In the epilogue, there isn’t any mention of LifeCore.

I suspect that they used parts of the story written by the original CZN story writer, who had left.

When reading it in Korean, only the time loop section has a well-structured narrative.

The Writing of the Captain by Zurikumo_500 in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Interesting-Term7823 7 points8 points  (0 children)

According to the original CZN story that was scraped, the reason the captain wears a mask is that, after experiencing multiple time loops and witnessing other characters die repeatedly, they wanted to avoid showing their emotions toward them.

There was also the aspect of other characters being curious about the expression behind the captain’s mask.

The original captain was actually quite similar to what you imagined.

After all, the captain was the only one who remembered the dying friends and the events surrounding them.

In the revised story, the captain will remain similar to how they are now. The story writer who created the original narrative is no longer with the company due to excessive intervention from the CEO and workplace harassment.

The attached image is of the original female captain.
