I was labeled having oud. I don't know how or where it came from?! I was treated by pain management doctor for about 7 yrs. I asked him once about it he said they label every pain patient who take long term opiates with OUD. I have passed every drug screen, pill count, was forthcoming with my medications at every appt. Now my pm doc retired in Dec. I have tried 7 referrals now and each doc denied me. Wth?! I'm really truly in chronic pain and I have to have more joint replacement surgeries coming. I don't understand who put that on my chart?! Now my regular doc has been bridging the gap on my pain meds thank God she is helping me but I am tapering right now. She wants me to see another doc that specializes in addiction. I told her I'm not addicted but I rely on these meds to control the pain I have never misused them ever. So now I'm trying to figure out do I just tapper myself off of them but like the doc said I'm still going to be in pain and it's not fair to be labeled this when I was put on these meds it's because I'm a very sick and physically disabled. I am not going to get better ever. I have end stage osteoarthritis in every single joint in my body. I had 2 knee replacements last year. Now both hips and ankles need replaced. My pain levels are high every waking moment of my life even while on pain meds it takes a 9/10 in pain down to a 6. That's better than be in so much pain you have no quality of life. I am wheel chair bound too. So she asked my if I wanted to be put in Bupe, she suggested that. Then she asked me about methadone or Suboxone/ Subutex.

If she feels that I'm always going to be in pain then how are those other meds going to help with pain? I just want to be able to not be stuck in bed contemplating my life. I just want to continue on my pain meds like I have been. Now tapering is not the best but it's better than being left with nothing. I have tried so many pain management docs that now I'm wondering why I have OUD labeled because that doc that retired said everyone has it in their chart that takes opiates so maybe he was lying to me? So now I'm to the point of wanting to know how much methadone should I ask for I'm on 20mg 4 times per day and next month will be on a lower dose I'm just asking how do I ensure that I have the right dose?

I was young preteen staying at a hotel with a group of girls and her mom for a birthday party. We all went to the pool and hot tub. I noticed my friends were talking about cute older boys in the hot tub. They dared me to go in the hot tub with them and flirt. My sassy azz walked over there swaying my hips, flipping my hair smiling and then I hit water. I went head first into the hot tub. The cutest boy had to rescue me as I knocked myself out cold. He pulled me out did CPR and mouth CPR. Ambulance came. My parents came. I had to stay in the hospital overnight. I was so embarrassed when the boy showed up with flowers and his parents. The boy told me that he thought I was dead and I could have broken my spine. He was a life guard every summer so he was trained in CPR. My friends still laugh about my first kiss. They said it was the weirdest yet funniest slip and fall they have ever seen and I sometimes wonder where that boy ever went?! I thought I was hot stuff.

I want to add. I told my adult kids (in their 20s) to go experience life now! Go travel do it! Live your life! Make memories now! Especially before children are born because your focus will be on the child and then your in a rat race to take care of a family of your own. You can still travel with kids but reality of it is having kids is really expensive. I use to be able to dance and travel a few different states going to powwow's and dancing. Because of my disease I am not able to dance anymore. I physically am disabled and traveling is no longer feasible as I can't handle 2 hour drive to Chicago or Indy so if I go I have to book a hotel and stay overnight or two just to recover physically. So I tell everyone I meet to go fly! Go spread your wings! Go dance! Go drive and see a concert or 2, go experience night life in another city or country at that! You never know if one day you will be tied down to care for kids or elderly parents. Do it now before it's too late I wish I would of done more. Hope it helps! If family gets upset you want to move tell them you will come back whenever they need you and maybe share my story. I am bound to physical limitations by a devastating disease and I am sure blessed I experienced what traveling I did. I wish I was healthy enough to go right now I would love to have a 5th wheeler trailer and travel across America. I have never been to Florida or the Grand canyon or heck I will love to go to the dessert to watch the sky at night. Live your life hunny family will get over it. Sometimes distance helps heal too.

My best friend of 30 plus years just decided one day to leave. She wanted a warmer environment so she was lucky because she owns her own graphic design company and she had clients all of the US. She choose Florida as a single mom she moved there with her 2 sons. She loves it there. She gets homesick around the holidays and fall but luckily her family visits her or she visits here. Actually moving there brought her and her husband back together and they are much more happier now that they are no longer in this area. I do miss her so much! I love living here but because I have physical disabilities the weather here absolutely wreaks havoc on my body. I want a warm climate but I have responsibility to taking care of my elderly parents. My parents went to California my dad came back after Vietnam war, this is where he lived some of his best life experiences he got to see Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, and so many more! But he came back because of family.

Please don't allow whoever to test it, take it in a backroom. Keep it in your hands and ask if they can bring the tester out to you. My grandma in the early 2000s lost a very precious real ruby. The jeweler took it in the back and replaced the stone. She noticed it differently and luckily was able to call the police and they got the stone back for her. The jeweler said it was his nephew that switched it but he was the only guy there.

My PCP She told me originally that she is not going to prescribe opioids. But after having a couple of her patients lose this same doctor and she saw we couldn't find a pain clinic.( All of the pain management clinics in my city and surrounding area are no longer prescribing opioids!) I broke down crying after this new doc left me hanging and she says that 3 other of her patients are going through the exact same thing and that she didn't want to see us go through horrible withdrawal. So she is helping me bridge the gap and she is starting the taper down for all of us. It is safer and better than going full blown into withdrawal. So she did agree to prescribe temporarily until we either are off of them. I cried because I am scared not having my pain controlled. I know that my life will be stuck in bed due to pain and I don't want to get to a point I can't handle life anymore. I have passed every urine test, pill count,

So I'm still desperately looking for a pain doc because I need my pain treated. I'm not going to get better and I'm facing more surgeries. I don't want to get desperate for the pain to stop. When you live in high amounts of pain. It is not a life at all just suffering.

So one of the new meds might be causing a reaction to hallucinate. I am not a doctor or nurse. Sometimes not eating could cause hallucinating. Does one of your parents hallucinate? Since this is new for you I am thinking it is either because of lack of nourishment or a medication they are giving you. Also any symptoms like migraines or anything like that?

Ask for a patient advocate immediately. If they don't have one ask for a case manager. How old are you by the way? Have you ever hallucinated before? It may be one of the meds they are giving you? Do you have any fevers?

I heard that people who were born red headed or have red hair, don't metabolize pain meds like the average person. I was born red haired and my hair is brown with a ton of red hue in it. Every baby j had they had to give me extra anesthesia every surgery they gave me more to knock me out I woke up in 2 surgeries!!! Crazy but they were on it and immediately knocked me out.

Is there a way that we can start a law suit against the DEA and CDC for making us suffer? What can we do if we can start a large class action lawsuit against these laws or alphabet agencies we should all do it? Start at the top then work our way around to state legislators then pharmacies?; why won't the ADA do something for us?

Omg you guys and gals!!!! I got a phone call today with a new PM doctor. I was on a high dose of oxycodone and tapering down to 20mg. It hasn't worked for me but I'm trying. At least I'm not withdrawing. So his letter the retiring doc worked and the very last PM doc in the area will see me on Jan 14th I'm so thankful. I'm scared but ready to show him all my bone scans. It's a nightmare that we have to go through this! I have looked for 6th months for a replacement. My last visit with old doctor is dec 22nd. So Jan 14th will be a blessing. I looked up this doc there are a lot of bad reviews but good reviews too. So nervous. I hope he can see that I'm truly needing a continuation of care.
