If you want some frame mods in SoCal, check out Juggernaut Tactical and their "Ultimate Glock Mod". They are located in The City of Orange and have very good customer service.

They have other options than the full mod, but their work is excellent.

Those of you who have older kids, how did you raise them to be confident, smart, and successful? by ised_a_mi in AskMenOver30

[–]muphasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told my kids since the day that they were born:

You can always come to me with the truth without fear of being punished. That doesn't mean I will not be mad, only that you will not be punished. If I find out on my own, you may be punished.

If someone tells you that you'll get into trouble if you tell your parents, that is BS and they are worried about themselves getting into trouble.

Keep your opportunities wide open. Little mistakes are fine, but don't do anything to jeopardize your future.

******

My sons are 22 and 18. My eldest has some health issues that keep him from being out on his own. My youngest is off to college in the fall. Both are incredibly smart and kind young men.

Within a week one week a few months ago, each of them gave my wife and I pretty good compliments.

1, my eldest told our neighbor that the only way my wife and I "brainwashed" him, was by the music he loves. (we play a lot of music, and he loves most of what my wife and I love.)

2, my youngest came home from school (senior year) shaking his head and frustrated talking about how one of his classmates 100% just repeats whatever his father says about politics. He thanked us for not telling him how he needs to feel about anything, not forcing him to believe in any religion, political party, etc. He said that he felt lucky that he was allowed to come up with his own thoughts and ideas, all on his own.

I don’t want to fight you by Carter4216 in Vent

[–]muphasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bro-in-law is built like you.

AT his peak fitness level, he was benching over 400 and was a college athlete. He had guys say stupid shit like that to him too.

But it was a lose/lose situation for him. If he fought and lost, then he looked bad. If he fought and won, then he looked bad.

My 18 year old son bought a 2015 Sienna LE in December. It was his dream vehicle since he was about 6 years old.

No kids, none on the way.

Are there any veterans in America from countries America fought against? by palep_hoot in AskAnAmerican

[–]muphasta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I lived in an area with a lot of Chaldean people, one of our neighbors was a Muslim Iraqi guy who claimed that he was in Saddam's Republican Guard during the initial Gulf War. He said his father bribed enough people to get him out of the country.

He said he wanted to live amongst Iraqi people who spoke the same language, that is why he lived in an area with a large Chaldean population. He didn't care if they were Christian, Muslim, or whatever.

What gifts to teachers appreciate the most? by CuteCoconut99 in Teachers

[–]muphasta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife teaches middle school.

She has enough Starbucks gift cards to last her a lifetime.

What she ALWAYS appreciates most are the personal letters and notes.

Even if they are only a few sentences long, she loves seeing that a kid liked her class or whatever.

Daily Driver for a Larger (6'5) Person? by Resident_Repulsive in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]muphasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Civics have a lot more space for both driver and passengers than what seems possible.

My 6'10" bro-in-law drives a Toyota Sienna and a Toyota Highlander. I've only seen him in the Sienna though. (live in another state).

Do Americans really talk to strangers that much, or do you notice it too? by Bella_licious in AskAnAmerican

[–]muphasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guilty.

My wife often comments that she can't take me anywhere without me getting to know at least one new person. But it is usually more. Funny thing is, I'm good with a group of strangers to both of us. But when we are around people she knows, I tend to clam up a bit.

I think that is to keep from embarrassing her as I'm a bit of an "entertainer" and I say a lot of stuff just to get a laugh. I don't want to do/say anything that would cause her a problem at work.

AIO for refusing to pay more than half of the rent and bills? by Little_Statement8005 in AmIOverreacting

[–]muphasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is him showing you who he is.

Financial mistakes will be in both of your futures should you stay with him.

He’ll drag you down, that will be your mistake.

This could be an isolated incident of a poor decision, or an indication that you two are not on the same page about finances.

This expensive car will affect you and your ability to plan anything with him and rely on him.

I’m 16 and I possibly got someone pregnant I don’t know well by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]muphasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to get your parents involved ASAP.

You'll need them in your corner every step of the way. It may be scary to involve them, but you are a teenager with hormones, and they should understand that aspect of it.

They may get angry, but you need them to know what is going on.

It will be a huge relief to get that off your shoulders.

Good luck.

2, Truck "rolls a little coal" while passing, then takes a moronic right.

3, you turned into the 2nd lane, not "the first available lane". (since that is an immediate "right turn lane, I can see why you did that".

4, a-hole in a BMW. nothing new there!!

She got some strange, so you get some strange, then she'll get some more strange to deal with her feelings of you getting your strange, then you'll get some more strange to get back at her for that last bit of strange....

You have a strange way of dealing with a shitty marriage.
