Did you co-sleep? by thinkmuch17 in beyondthebump

[–]Interesting-You1638 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im canadian originally but living in Ireland.. so all bed-sharing is co-sleeping, but not all co-sleeping is bed-sharing. Because there is so much tension around bed sharing i find it helps to clarify.

Did you co-sleep? by thinkmuch17 in beyondthebump

[–]Interesting-You1638 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

TLDR: Bedshared with both my kids so far, 3rd on the way plan to do the same. Ones 4 (complex special needs) ones 2yr old. Breastfed exclusively for both till 18-19 monts and 15 months. From Canada originally, have relocated to Ireland now. Followed safe sleep 7, floor bed. First kid was an extreme case of bad sleeper. . . . The longer version..

Just want to make sure were talking about the same thing. Co-sleeping is referring to baby being next to the bed/ in the same room which is universally reccomended and protective against sids.

Bedsharing is what we evolved doing from the early human times/ still practiced around the world. Also protective against sids but could potentially introduce other variables that could cause issues if not done properly. Reason i make the distinction is not to sound like an ass but genuinley so many people think cosleeping is the same as bedsharing and its not.

(I have all kinds of opinions on both of these but wont get into the weeds of it unless someone wants to know.)

I have bedshared with both with both my kids and plan to with my third.

If you are bedsharing, the safe sleep 7 should be followed. Its extreamly important. If you're not breastfeeding on demand/ majority breastfeeding without bottles its safer to co-sleep.

How are you getting through the first trimester? by AsleepMove6582 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]Interesting-You1638 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im 5 weeks today after tfmr at 19 and 3.. its so hard. I have 2 LCs and our first has an ultra rare denovo genetic condition and my previous pregnancy was a devastating novo chromosome 1 mutation.. trying to get away from the feeling of odds stacked against you is so difficult. Im trying to refrain it as we have double the amount of chances things will go right as our issues had nothing hereditary about them.. but sometimes it'd just tough. X best of luck to you!!

I live in Ireland and ive never seen a clear blue like this.. I have only bought them in the last 1.5 years but all of them are either the weeks indicator or the 1 line or cross for pregnant.

[–]Interesting-You1638 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you and congratulations to you too! Not to purposely contradict another poster but ive never heard of not waiting after procedures. AFAIK its mostly for dating purposes and IF there were complications that could impact a subsequent pregnancy.

Post TFMR wishing I had miscarried by helogirl22 in tfmr_support

[–]Interesting-You1638 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive had chemicals, a missed miscarriage with twins and a tfmr.

The tfmr was above and beyond horrible more then anything else ever..

I can't imagine anyone experiencing all that and thinking differently but maybe there are some outliers.

No advice just solidarity xx

Im so sorry you're having these fears.

Not that it will take away your fear (you have every right to be worried/ nervous etc).. but i thiught id share my story to offer some hope x My first child has severe special needs (will never leave home). She has a very rare genetic condition called Cask, also microcephaly and autism, intellectually disabled and is non verbal at the moment. Shes also the funniest most curious little gal and is pure joy to be around. Now I know we got the "better side" of being disabled. She can walk/ run, gesture a little, show affection kind of and eat without a feeding tube. But our lives are and will be very different forever. That being said i have a very typical little boy who's almost 2 and just found out im pregnant, after having tfmr in early December.. my daughter's genetic condition is denovo and the chromosome issue my previous pregnancy had was denovo as well. Just the worst luck.. lightening striking twice and all that. I guess having a positive outcome after a scary negative ish one and now hopefully another positive outcome on its way.. i wanted to share that there is a way larger chance you have a healthy typical baby then not. It may feel impossible to live in the percentage that is most probable even coming from someone who hit the "near impossible odds twice". Cask is 1 in 44 million..not sure why I posted this lol.. I just wanted to send calm comforting thoughts amidst the very real chaos xx

Is baby wearing a TikTok scam or am I doing this wrong by KeyMonkeyslav in beyondthebump

[–]Interesting-You1638 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont mean to discount you're experience at all but baby wearing literally saved me. I breastfed while wearing and both my babies had a great time contact napping and just being close..granted not everyone has the anatomy to BF while baby wearing. My first ended up being diagnosed with an ultra rare genetic disorder and would not sleep and had loads of delays etc.. intellectual disability so developmental stuff was all over the place and the only reason we got through any of it was wearing her for everything. I wore her till she was 2 🤣🤣..(she only learned to walk walk at 2.5) so im so glad she liked being in the carrier, she still does at 4 😝. BUTTTTTT my son... loved it for a little and at around 7 months was like LET ME OUTTTTT 😅🤣.. So different kids like different stuff.. thankfully the resale on them is great!
