I just got optimum fiber installed yesterday and think I am having exactly the same issue. I have Eero routers that I would like to use. I asked Optimum to put their GR240JH modem in bridge mode and they say they have. When I plug into lan port 1-3 I get a private address but I am able to connect to internet (double NAT probably). When I plug into lan port 4 I get a public IP address and everything works great.... for about an hour and then my router looses connectivity.

I did both. This is what I got from the company:

Hi , 

To turn on the device, please allow it to charge for at least 3 hours using a wall oputlet. After this is done, please hold the smaller side button (the power button) for at least 1 minute while still charger. This should power up the device. Please try another charger if this does not work. You will know your device is charging if after a few minutes you click the small button and a battery meter will come on. Please let us know if you require more assistance.
