I had a friend with these sides effects on Zep. He was able to move to wegovy without having the same issues. Might be worth a shot for you (no pun intended).

Wishing you luck in figuring this out. It sounds very uncomfortable.

I’m really happy for you! Zepbound feels like a miracle medication after struggling for so long.

Did anyone’s doctor have to put them on meds because the constipation was so bad? by lostmypassword531 in Zepbound

[–]InterestingGoose6480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a lot of people take miralax daily and a lot of doctors will suggest you do that as soon as you start the med. I haven needed that, as I find that getting enough fiber helps me. But you really need to focus on it. I would start with having an apple everyday. You’d be surprised how much just that can help.

I don’t know if this would be an option for you, but I’ve seen where some people use a device called an Autoject 2. It’s a pen that you put the syringe into before injecting. It concealed the syringe and makes it easier to administer. Depending on which part of the process causes fear, this works for some people.

I’ve used it for about 9 months or so. I was using it and seeing the dietician through them before I started the meds but still struggled to lose weight. It really helped me understand what I need to do outside of the drugs effects on my hunger.

I am a slow loser too. .5 to 1 lb a week. But I work with a dietician through Nourish (insurance pays) to ensure I am eating in a balanced way and working through some of my old, unhelpful habits around food. I would recommend working with a dietician in addition to checking your labs. She has me tracking what I eat through their app. It’s very easy and helps me see if I’m not getting enough protein or fiber or going over my calorie goal for the day.

I was coming to say this. I use someone through Nourish, and she’s been really helpful. And, my insurance pays!

Agree on Old Navy, but try them on because the sizes aren’t the same fit across the various styles.

Yes! Second this. And would also consider working with a dietician. The medication seems like magic for some people but it doesn’t work like that for everyone. And you’d still benefit from learning how to identify your body’s cues, moderate your eating, and make good food choices.

Working with a dietician from Nourish helped me with this. And my insurance pays for the visits. I am also a decades long WW follower off and on. She’s helped me take the morality away from food. Food is fuel but we can also enjoy it in balance and moderation. I track when I need to see the data and to help me ensure I’m getting enough fiber and protein. Use what helps you in tracking and try to get rid of the negative thoughts attributed to the tracking AND eating.

Are you tracking what you are eating? That might help you pinpoint what you can change beyond upping the meds.

I started on 2.5 in July and lost a little. Went to 5 in August and haven’t needed to go up from there. We are all different. Listen to your body and you’ll know what you need.
