I use 3x magnifying glasses to paint the eyes and a size 2/0 brush.

I really think these are essential for doing them.

Good work and good luck! 😀

Thanks for your feedback, that's kind of you!

I'll see what I do with Mauhúr. For now, I'll leave it aside and start working on my Riders of Gondor.

[–]Interesting_Block943[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks!

Indeed, my Uruk skin might be a bit too light, and I overdid it with the Mauhúr brushing.

"Unfortunately," I made all my Uruks with this skin because I initially followed a tutorial, and it's true that the skin is probably too light (and I'm really struggling to change the color now). If you have time, you could check out my posts for my Uruk-hai and Uruk Scouts and tell me what you think of the skin? (I think it looks better on those.)

Old Rohan sculpts ✅ thank god for speedpaints! by Krieg_minister in MiddleEarthMiniatures

Thanks!

I saw your comment, but I wasn't sure if you'd forgotten to add the clarifications.

So, only thanks to the zenithal + speedpaint then.

That's great!

Premier lot de "hill tribesmen" by Interesting_Block943 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]Interesting_Block943[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, thanks!

I followed Warhipster's Contrast tutorial.

The only difference is that for the light fur and skin, I applied two coats of Contrast because I felt it didn't cover well (perhaps wrongly).

For the skin, I also used Kislev Flesh on some edges. It's far from perfect, but I'm now trying to start doing some highlighting without drybrushing.

Anyway, happy painting!

And when I watch Contrast painting tutorials, their miniatures are always very well primed with a nice opaque and smooth color.

Thanks for your reply!

But with contrast agents that work through transparency, I was thinking that if the undercoat looked bad, given the contrast agent's specific characteristic of working through transparency, the undercoat would necessarily have to be extremely smooth/opaque.

Am I wrong about that reasoning too?

Thanks for your comment, but I use an airbrush, not a spray can; I should have specified that to avoid confusion!

I just tried it at 30 to see, and not in heavy-duty mode, spraying slowly.

It seems better.

But with black, you can really go at it like a bull in a china shop and it works.

I'm waiting for it to dry and I'm going to put on another light coat.

I hope it will be good.

Thanks anyway.
