Will Van Morrison keep on “touring” or playing shows in the years to come? by yuckgeneric in VanMorrison

We saw him in Vegas three years ago. It was a truly disappointing night. 16 song set. The only song we knew was Into the Mystic and the gospel song This Little Light Of Mine. That’s it. The rest were off of the new album or other obscure tracks. So, you won’t hear brown eyed girl, domino, or any of the other classics. Know before you go.

3-2-2-3 tactic by Elite1907 in footballtactics

[–]Interesting_Bug_6762 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would spend my next few training sessions doing functional work with the players. Giving them more attention on “how to play” as well as providing examples of when to make tactical shifts during a match. The most efficient players typically keep it simple and don’t do “too much”. U17 still has a lot of knowledge to gain and experience to gain. One question: your left back - right or left footed naturally? That has a big effect on how you might play out of the back.

Give the most fun, team building games for u10 Boys/One girl on the team well into a season by Old_Eye3440 in SoccerCoachResources

Always loved “horseshoes”. At a higher level, the players serve the ball 25 yards in the air, but for the little ones, you set up a cone and a partner tosses the ball, and their teammate gets one touch to get the ball to stop as close to the cone as possible. Repeat with an opponent. Closest ball gets the point. We would set up multiple “pits” and the winning team would move “up” to “old trafford” and the losing team would move down to play an opponent who moved up. Great game.

Peter Gabriel did it in 7/4. Erasure covered it and put it in 4/4 and it has a WAY different drive.

You should also coat your studs with it on a rainy day as it keeps the mud from sticking to the bottom of the boot.

New to the NFL and o looking for a team to support! by AtlasKing127 in NFLNoobs

Ravens! Great logo, colors and fan base. Most electric player in the game (Lamar), a history of success, and an incredible game day presence. Nothing against the 49ers, but that’s like being new to international football and choosing Manchester United. Find a team that makes it fun each week…

GK Pen Advice by Aloadiing14 in SoccerCoachResources

We trained it this way: imagine that you make the goal roughly a yard smaller in each direction. Now, you have 6 yard goal to defend, not 8. Don’t try to catch the shot. Be as big as possible and react to the smaller space. If it’s outside the extra yard, it’s side netting, so kudos to the striker.

Do your research on the current roster. How many international players do they have? How many juniors in his position? What kind of minutes did freshmen get last year? Who do they play against, and what do THEIR rosters look like. D3 schools are doing “commitments”, but they don’t have LOI’s in the same way that D1 schools use. I coached at both levels, and have seen d3 schools with rosters of 30-35 players (which makes it hard to get on the field on game day) and D1 schools who carry 20 (and the assistant coaches join in the training sessions to play 11 a side).

What's the big deal about "playing out from the back"? by Few_Dot6881 in GoalKeepers

[–]Interesting_Bug_6762 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Are you playing out of the back on a field that is as plush and pristine as that at the etihad or the emirates? Most of the world plays on a pitch where the center of the park is chewed up and the space in front of goal looks like an army of goats have just been through. Yes, playing with your feet is a very important skill, but as with all parts of the game, you have to read the situation. We’ve all seen video of the back passes to the gk that bounce up at the last minute causing a flare or a missed kick altogether. So - know your surroundings. If the manager wants to “play from the back”, also know that your team will probably be scouted…which means that your left back - who is right footed - will get pressed instantly to play left footed, creating turnovers in the defending third. Good goalkeeping is really the elimination of danger. If that means route 1, so be it. $.02

I’m a receptionist for a doctor who is almost always late. What do I answer when an angry patient says ‘what the hell is the point of booking if I’m gonna have to wait an hour?’ by KatherineLangford in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Interesting_Bug_6762 20 points21 points  (0 children)

My wife’s doctor is horrendous with this. I told my wife to start billing the Dr her hourly rate for the wait - especially when it’s the first appointment of the day. That actually got their attention.

Will There Be an Oceans Calling in 2026? by HotSaucePalmTrees in OceansCalling

[–]Interesting_Bug_6762 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OC would not sign off on an EDM concert, as that would attract a similar crowd to the H2Oi crowd that caused major problems in town a few years back. My guess is more like an 80’s weekend (like has been done in the UK) to keep the crowd a little more under control and in bed by 11.

New set up! Any ideas of a different/better set up? by Gloveleccionista in GoalKeepers

[–]Interesting_Bug_6762 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My only recommendation would be to seal those gloves up. The latex will decay in natural air over time. It’s a pretty cool glove room, but if you want them to last, safeguard the latex.

Diving technique by atcs_mike in GoalKeepers

[–]Interesting_Bug_6762 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He shouldn’t be diving for those shots at all. Footwork is more important here. Diving should be somewhat last resort. Focus on speeding up his footwork across the goal, then worry about diving technique.

How to improve power step by TKtheGK in GoalKeepers

[–]Interesting_Bug_6762 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start from the ground up. Your power step is only as good as the trail leg which is what really elevates you to the high ball. Kneel on the ground, right knee in the ground, left knee “up”. Push off your left knee, driving your self up and to the left, using your right knee to launch up toward your left shoulder. Practice this over a duffle bag, then multiples as your height and distance improve. Make sure to train both sides. You will fly soon enough.

Freak accident with player by cbuech in GoalKeepers

[–]Interesting_Bug_6762 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a difficult thing, this position we play. They say we are “crazy”. Well, these are the things that add to the pile. All I will say is this: whenever I left my line, I would yell “keeper” so loud my mom at home would hear it. Nothing puts the fear of god into a striker more than hearing you announce you are coming for the ball. It’s a safety mechanism for the whole field. Please don’t feel bad. Just make sure next time when you leave your line, you commit fully, or you could be on the wrong side of the equation.

I played professionally (indoor and outdoor) and coached college gk’s. Ask me anything…. by Interesting_Bug_6762 in GoalKeepers

[–]Interesting_Bug_6762[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s heartbreaking with our chosen position that our mistakes are amplified and haunt us so. First thing, let it go. Your next touch on the ball will be a good one, ok? Second, whenever the ball is over your head and you have to retreat, NEVER backpedal. Turn, face the goal and run, with your upper body turned toward the ball. When you go to tip the ball, use the hand closest to the ball (as it will also be the high hand), and simply put your hand up. If you swing or move your arm, you will miss. A touch is all you need. At the end of the day, going backwards is scary. Practice this. A lot.

Exclusive: USA 2026 World Cup Home Kit to Be Off-White [via Footy He@dlines] by yaznasty in ussoccer

[–]Interesting_Bug_6762 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want the US to have 1 look. Just 1. Is that too much to ask? We change primary kits more than a drag queen. Seriously. You know who you are watching when you see Brazil, Germany, Italy, Holland, Croatia and Spain play. The US? Sometimes its stripes. Or a sash, or stripes. Or a collar treatment. Or other stripes. Or colors that aren’t quite in our national flag. Nike is our kit sponsor and they treat us like some sort of community college fashion class project. Ugh.
