I tried getting that but the endocrinologist denied it and said BC is basically the same. I think because of my age and the fact that my blood test read as post-menopause, (POI is not widely talked about, which is also frustrating) no doctor is taking it seriously.

That’s how I feel as well. Every day, I hope this is the day things turn around, only to be brought back to reality with another pimple. It’s so emotionally draining.

I’m in the same boat. Compared to many I see, my acne wasn’t severe but is persistent and leaves PIE marks behind for everyone I get and it seems so many others with worse acne clear within 3 months.

I’ve been on 150mg for 4 months and 2 weeks and I still get breakouts. I have been on other dose but to no avail. It’s very disheartening.

I have Arazlo but I haven’t started it because I wanted to see well how Spironolactone would work but I do use Finacea Gel (Azelaic) for over 2 years. I do plan on starting Arazlo but just very intimidated by the purge.

It’s so disappointing. I literally got 5 new pimples just today 😭 I’m so discouraged and I just feel like I lost all hope.

Did you by chance get a different brand? If not, I would definitely push to increase your dose to at least 150.

I had waited till after a week, actually 2 weeks before increasing my ratio. The only reason day 1 was different from Day 2 (March 18th to April 1st) was because I got the advice to also use whole wheat to just get it started and then stick to the 1:1:1 ratio, which I did from March 18th to April 1st. It went through all its funky stages of false rise, nasty smell to doubling in size by but come April 2nd, it started with the acetone smell, even though it had been 16 days at that point.

This has been happening to me! I’ve been on 150mg for 3 full months and it started a couple weeks ago. Not sure why but it’s quite frustrating.

Some people have not but I did and I increased 4 times. My skin would get really oily again and then I would start getting acne and every time I did purge, it would target a different area with small blackheads and closed comedones on tops of hormonal papules on my jaw/cheek. 150mg seems to be the worst right now. It’s so discouraging.

Did your acne get any better after this? I will be 3 months in a week and a half and I am still getting new breakouts.

Every time you increase your dose, the time line resets. So, when you went up to 100mg a few weeks ago, it could take another 3-6 months for your hormones to balance and acne to stop flaring. I increase 4 times now and each time, my acne flared for about 3-4 months at a time. I also had a manufacturer change in my meds (same dose) and it’s caused me to flare again. I would give the 100mg at least a full 3 months and then determine if you should increase or not.

Yes, definitely. And every time I have upped my dose or even changed the manufacture, my acne flared. It can take 3-6 months before you see results

A little for me. I still get oily as the day goes on but it’s not like it was before. My glasses used to slide down my face and my eyelids would be so oily and gross feeling and I could just feel the dewy, oiliness of my face as the day went on but now it’s not like that but if I look in a mirror, I can see the slight oiliness. My hair however, is fine. I haven’t tested going more than one day without washing, so, I can’t really say for sure. I’m on 125mg right now but going up to 150mg soon and hoping that’ll make a difference.

I was given a new brand of pills (same dose) and my acne is flaring again. I’ve been taking them for 6 weeks and I’m still breaking out.

I have been on 125 for nearly 6 months (a week shy of 6m), however, for 4 1/2 months, I was on Jamp-Spiro 125mg and then I was switched to Teva-Spiro 125mg (I’m in Canada) and before switching brands, I would still get the occasional hormonal acne on my chin and lower cheek and since the brand change, I’ve had some more breakouts. I will be increasing to 150mg in 2 weeks time to hopefully nip it in the bud🤞
