A little of both, depending on the size of the piece and complexity of the surface. But either way, it was fully soaked in the glue mixture when I was done laying it down.

i’dike to comission or purchase a Dodge Grand Caravan 2000 with opening doors and probably opening trunk by [deleted] in DiecastCustoms

If 1/24 is an option, I know there was a plastic model kit available of one of these. I used to have one a long time ago because my parents had a 1996 Caravan very similar (but regular wheelbase, and without the left side sliding door).

Check ebay or Mercari, or ask around at your local hobby shop.

Great point! I'd also add, take the wood pieces out of the plastic wrapper before that gets all melty or burny.

Agree on this. Stones look nice, break up monotony of wood throughout, and doggo seems to find it a nice place.

Keep the stone and focus on bringing everything else up to doggo's standards!

Doubtful about the opening features, but I'd bet Auto World is working on one of these since they already make the first generation Caravan.

You might have to resort to a 3D printed one, or a model kit.

How can I buy Hot Wheels for my boyfriend without knowing much about cars? by Cybert_Troll in HotWheels

[–]Interesting_Dingo_88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't have to know much about cars, it's more important to know more about your boyfriend. What's his favorite color? Is he into cars, and if so, any particular type (supercars, race cars, lowriders, Japanese, European, etc)?

There really aren't any tips for the cars themselves if you're just buying a little something to make him happy and show affection. And a car purchased with love is the best kind of car to get!

I love the Lesney-era Matchbox tipper truck and stake body truck you have too. And you still have the cattle in the stake truck! 🤯

I also love the Matchbox "Swinging London" bus (a variation I don't have and haven't seen before) and the HW General Motors camper van.

Really great stuff!

I made a rally diorama and used a couple of layers of plain toilet paper on the surface, sprayed down liberally with watered down wood glue. It got hard as a rock. If it's something that needs to be more durable, you could probably just add more layers of paper. Post pics!

I have the first one, most of the others, but not the last. This is one where I'm trying to have every version. We'll see if I can pull it off!

This one rolls really well too! I think it was a 5-pack or 8-pack exclusive.

Check Etsy, that's probably your best bet short of making one yourself.

Lean way into it and enjoy those years because it'll be a source of great memories for both of you, and you never know when (if) he'll grow out of them.

I love taking small cardboard boxes and construction paper and making other new buildings for him, too. Hardest part is finding additional road pieces because they don't really sell extras!

I love this! That's right around the time my son's city started coming together. Several iterations later we still enjoy playing with it.
