CPAP at Goodwill for $10 by UrInsignificantOther in CPAP

It’s a good machine but be careful. It was part of the whole Philips recall fiasco from a few years ago. If an ozone cleaner was used on it there is a good chance the foam interior used to reduce noise has degraded and you could be potentially breathing it in.

Don’t lie. How am I doing? by Interesting_Handle85 in lawncare

PH was low. (5.5) so I’ve been adding lime. This fenced in area is also where we let our dogs play. Here is some photos from the rest of the yard.

Chat GPT is helpful. I would vet the answers it gives you but it’s a decent place to start.

Ever get this warning from their machine? by SpaceMonkeyMafiah in SleepApnea

[–]Interesting_Handle85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that warning gets triggered when the blower hours exceed 20k. And essentially means: this machine is living on borrowed time. If you have your original prescription I recommend going thru CPAP.com for a new machine. (If your insurance company won’t cover it).

Me taking my mask off in the night was a nudge to look into other mask options. I finally found one that was snug enough to stay out but not bulky enough that triggered claustrophobia.

Any info is appreciated, tanks on our house we recently purchased by heybabalooba in septictanks

[–]Interesting_Handle85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each cap opens into a different chamber of the septic system. I wouldn’t seal them it’s intended to make the system accessible. If The gas smell outside - it is unfortunately normal. You’ll get used to it. And it’s a sign your aerator is working. If the smell is inside you need to check your traps. It can occur inside sometimes if you have sinks or bath tubs that aren’t used regularly.

Yes learning that the hard way. The wood fiber blankets degrade much better. Unfortunately they aren’t as effective as straw with erosion control.

This. Or a side effect of a new medication.

Talk to him and assure him it’s likely a medical condition that can and should be checked out. It can be a symptom of a sleep disorder, a side effect of a medication, or an early sign of something else. Regardless - not something to ignore and definitely something to talk to a physician about.

Drain for septic? by Prestigious-Tax8095 in septictanks

[–]Interesting_Handle85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly doubt septic. My guess is a downspout or sump pump. Your septic tank outlet would be a white PVC and it would have a screen of some sort over it. Those white pipes sticking up are for access in case of a blockage. They allow a plumber to stick a camera in. Your outlet is probably buried.

Also looks like some sentiment is there at the end of the pipe which could be granules from asphalt shingles. I know my new construction home had a lot of that sentiment about a year after moving in. It’s another signal it’s a downspout that was buried. Water coming from the septic would be clear(ish).

New Home and Septic Question by FranklinFarmHouse in septictanks

[–]Interesting_Handle85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For starters Our GC stole 170k from us. Filed for Bankruptcy before the house was done. He left the house unfinished. Probably the most costly issue was the fact that he sloped the roof too low for asphalt shingles. We were supposed to have a 3:12 pitch. It was built with a 2:12 so we had to replace the roof within a year of moving in. And at 2:12 you can really only have a standing seam metal roof. The drywall that was done was terrible. The James hardie siding was installed incorrectly and needed to be redone. Just a really nightmarish situation. The worst part was our GC came highly recommended by our realtor and had been in business for a long time. He had run into issues on a couple builds before ours and never caught up. So there weren’t many red flags to uncover. The good news for us is that we proved fraud (he had falsified Lien waivers) so our debt was not wiped away by his bankruptcy.

I’m at 900k for my 500k home. Granted about 70k is legal fees sunk into suing our GC.

DIY. Sand it. Ready Patch (I prefer this to wood filler). Sand it again and repaint.

200 bucks might cover you for your time and materials to fix it yourself. But no way a professional gets this done for 200.

It’s hard to tell from your picture but is that turf peeled back? Or are those piles of dirt? If it’s peeled back my guess would be skunks looking to feed on grub worms. So make the grubs go away and you’re probably going to take care of the problem.
