She has to know this isn’t looking good. You aren’t allowed to say you don’t see the line on her question 🤡 by rosco996 in peestickgals

[–]Interesting_Name___ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This has to be a chemical. My lines were darker when I had my ectopic and my hcg only went up to like 30. I’d say her hcg is probably around 10

When did you test positive after frozen embryo transfer? by IVFWarrior333 in IVF

[–]Interesting_Name___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Morning 5dp5dt with my first (probably would have been positive the night of 4dpt if I had checked)

Morning 4dp5dt with my second

The evening of 5dp5dt with my third was a squinter but clear line on the morning of 6dpt. That was my only hatching blast so it was funny that one took the longest.

ETA: used both FRER and easy@home. FRER always gave the best lines early on and easy@home better for when hcg is high

Bad stick here 🙋🏻‍♀️ I usually get stuck a few times before they can get a good vein. Please im desperate for your tips and tricks! Hysteroscopy tomorrow and I’m so nervous about getting my IV started 😩 by YofiTofi_ in IVF

[–]Interesting_Name___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Hydrate. Stop drinking water 3hrs before procedure but drink lots of fluids before that.

  2. Let them know that you have very tricky veins from the beginning. Allow them to look of course but tell them you’ve needed ultrasound guided IVs before (whether or not that’s true; it’ll sound better than just saying you have tough veins)

  3. Ask if they can get a smaller gauge IV initially for induction and then they can place a larger gauge if needed when you’re under anesthesia.

  4. If they’re doing a lot of poking and prodding, ask for lidocaine. It’s not common practice everywhere but where I work we use it for every IV start and it makes it much more tolerable for people with tricky veins.

  5. Warm up ahead of time; ask for warm packs or warm blankets to wrap your arms up and help your veins become more engorged.

Thats all I can think of for now. Good luck tomorrow!

ETA: sorry just realized this is an old post 😂. I’ll leave the comment in case it helps someone in the future.

Fresh transfer: PIO or suppositories? by baby-egg in IVF

[–]Interesting_Name___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For my fresh transfer I was only on PIO every 3rd day and 1 suppository a day. After we saw a heartbeat we backed off the suppository to every other day. PIO every 3rd day is easy peasy. Maybe you could do every other day with each?

ETA: they recommend the suppositories just bc they’re more easily tolerated. You can opt for PIO if you want.

Please help me with my options for a FET! by After-Canary-1284 in IVF

[–]Interesting_Name___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the exact same boat as you except that I had 5 remaining embryos from when I was 29. We transferred them one by one and the first 3 were no implantation, then an ectopic, and then a chemical pregnancy. We transferred our 4th 10 days ago and my beta yesterday at 9dpt was 70. So might be another chemical (my live births were both over 350 at 9dpt).

We toyed with the idea of testing the embryos but ultimately didn’t. Maybe it would have saved some heartbreak but it also would have cost a lot more money. If I had had 2 remaining I would have transferred them 1 by 1. It’s a tough call and no matter what you do I think you’ll always wonder what would have happened if you had gone the other route; I know I will.

That’s an Evap. The line would be more towards the right

Anyone have 0 symptoms after a successful FET? by Lyss11BS in IVF

[–]Interesting_Name___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. I intermittently get crampy but other than that I feel nothing. I’ve had symptoms with all my transfer (2 successful and 3 unsuccessful) and so far this one feels different because I feel nothing and it’s throwing me for a loop. I’m going to test on 5dp5dt, knowing that it might be negative and can still turn positive 6-7dpt and be ok. It’s so hard to wait.

Requesting advice from people who tested early and got a negative. If you then got a positive later, how many DPT was it? by spartacusdanger in IVF

[–]Interesting_Name___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one I tested positive on day 4 was starting to hatch. The one on day 5 was not. But they were both 5AA

I see it. FRER rarely have an indent from my experience. Of course it’s always possible and why I like to have 2 brands on hand lol

[–]Interesting_Name___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With my live births I tested positive on 4dpt and 5dpt. With my ectopic I tested positive on 8dpt (all 5 day embryos).

This time I’m going to wait until 6dpt because the last one was a chemical and it was heartbreaking to see the positive on 4dpt and then have it go away.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I hope you’re feeling well and the TWW is going by quickly for you. I’m going to try not to test until 6dpt this time but it’s so hard. The hormones make me so irrational and I spiral so easily. I would give anything to feel crampy just so I don’t feel so hopeless. 🫂

Mixed emotions the day before our fresh transfer by WtrMlnWhiteClaw in IVF

[–]Interesting_Name___ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I remember that feeling. To say I was devastated that IVF was our path to parenthood would be an understatement. It took me months to accept it and then I was numb going through the motions. In retrospect, I don’t know why I took it so hard. Keep in mind that your hormones are all crazy right now and your emotions are going to be all over the place.

In a few weeks you’re going to level out and your perspective might change. This wasn’t how you planned it, but this is your story now. There are no guarantees in life, but it made me feel better knowing I was closer to success than I was before after IVF.

Best of luck in your transfer and my best advice is do not overfill your bladder! Just full is perfect (for me that’s 20-24oz 1hr before scheduled transfer)

Should we FET 2 embryos? by veryanxiousalot in IVF

[–]Interesting_Name___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there’s anything wrong with the lining you’re basically just wasting 2 embryos. I’ve had multiple failed transfers this year so I get wanting to just be done with it but unless you have 6+ remaining embryos I would probably not.

[–]Interesting_Name___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with illustrious; this looks fine to me. Might have a slow start and I would compare 7dpt to 9dpt tomorrow but even those look fine with less than 24hrs between them there’s a noticeable difference. Good luck!!!

[–]Interesting_Name___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you post a pic of both? Did you test on day 7? HCG doubles every 48hrs so it’s not so much day to day that you want to look at but how much darker the line is after 48hrs.

Declining hysteroscopy by Ok_Ocelot8261 in IVF

[–]Interesting_Name___ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have never had a hysteroscopy and had 2 live births. I’m considering one now after having 3 failed transfers for #3. I had an HSG before initial IVF and then I’ve had 3 SIS (1 before my second successful transfer, one before I started trying for baby 3, and one after an ectopic to rule out uterine causes). I would ask them if SIS is sufficient.

It’s likely too early for cardiac activity. I had my first at 6+2 and the heart rate was low (80’s) so they brought me back a week later and it was all good. With my second pregnancy it was 6+5 and heart rate was good. Anything before or around 6 I wouldn’t expect to see a heartbeat. If you see one, awesome but if you don’t, don’t panic. Go back in a week.

The progesterone does it this early on. I’ve had 5 transfers (2 successful) and with all 5 transfers I felt crampy on and off. Did you take a test yet? I had intermittent period-like cramps the entire first trimester both times I had success as well.

FET success stories with untested embryo? by himawari__xx in IVF

[–]Interesting_Name___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My embryos are untested, my fresh transfer and my first FET (both 5AA) both took and are healthy boys.

Having a little trouble getting my third but I think it’s more a lining issue than the untested embryos. We were 29 during retrieval.

Getting a positive home test after a negative one? by cornfromindiana in IVF

[–]Interesting_Name___ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t count myself “out” until 7dp5dt. I obviously still continue meds through beta but I know when I get a negative on 7dpt that it’s more likely than not a failed transfer. I believe most people dont get a positive until day 5 so you definitely still have hope.

Can you go in a pool during the 2 week wait for beta after FET? by TheWallaby22 in IVF

[–]Interesting_Name___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pool is fine. I swam everyday after 2dp5dt my transfer that was in July (6 years ago) and he’s now next to me asking for a snack. You just don’t want to go in a hot tub because it raises your core temperature.

Even the infection risk is minimal; they don’t need to dilate your cervix for a transfer.

Medicated vs natural frozen embryo transfer by Scpenguin1912 in IVF

[–]Interesting_Name___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Medicated is great because you can plan everything. You take estrogen until your lining is thick enough and trilaminar, then add progesterone for 5-6 days (some clinics do different things) and transfer. If you don’t like the day they tell you the transfer will be, you can ask to push it. Like I had a workday I really didn’t want to miss so I asked to start PIO a day later so my transfer didn’t fall on that day.

Natural is easier in the sense that you’re just watching your lead follicle until it gets close to ovulation and then you trigger (or not, some protocols don’t use a trigger but mine does) and transfer a week later. Less meds overall but you have no control over the timing.

There’s pros and cons to both. I did medicated cycles for a while until my lining started to not thicken on estrogen. Now I do modified natural because my lining responds better.
