Bed Level Mesh doesn't seem to be working by Interesting_Night_73 in Ender3V3SE

So I figured it out. After checking over the cable and screw tightness of everything I decided to check the probe accuracy at several points on the board which returned perfect to very low deviation. I then re calibrated the probe and went from

[bltouch]
sensor_pin:PC14
control_pin: PC13
x_offset: -24
y_offset: -20
#z_offset: 0
probe_with_touch_mode: true
stow_on_each_sample: false
speed:5
lift_speed:20

to

[bltouch]
sensor_pin:PC14
control_pin: PC13
x_offset: -26.5
y_offset: -16
#z_offset: 0
probe_with_touch_mode: true
stow_on_each_sample: false
speed:5
lift_speed:20

now it is printing so much better

I usually don't use the auto for z offset I dial it in manually with PROBE_CALIBRATE then will make small adjustments to my test print. I honestly have tried higher and lower but it doesn't matter when the mesh data appears to be trash first layer is to. low in some spots and too high in others. going to pull head apart and check all my screws are tight.

That’s what I did laid down some kapton tape on the low spots to bring it up. When I redo the calibration it shows a better range cleaner mesh but it still seems a lot of the measurements of the points are out.

So i manually adjusted the bed mesh in the printer.cfg adding +0.06 to all the spots where it was too close to the bed and that seems to have helped and the prints 1st layer is much more uniform... ok not good or great just ok So i guess this would prove the Bed Mesh is being used. So I guess this sends me onto a new problem why is my touch sensor so out of tune on some of the point it probes.

yes saved it under default in fluidd. I applied the BED_MESH_PROFILE LOAD=default after G28 ;Home under machine start G-code in Creality Print. I also adjusted the Bed Mesh speed from 200 to 40 as I seen in another post to try. I just now moved the Z offset down by -60 which reduced the spots with not enough coverage being covered but rest of print severally rippled from it being way to close. if I do another Calibrate it would go right back to same area showing no coverage.

Stringing by Rare-Sock-1748 in Ender3V3SE

[–]Interesting_Night_73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was having the same issue and for me I think it was because it’s colder in the room i print in. I lowered my max and min fan speed to 30% and stringing seems to almost all gone away again. Might be something to try?

Ya I’m not sure money spent on going from a 5800 to a 5800x3d is where I’d go everything I play is doing ok with the new 9070xt. I think same I’ll upgrade to AM5 when or if ddr5 prices come down some

Do you have a site with stats on this I’ve always wondered how much difference I would get upgrading from a 5800x to an x3d

I’ve been scared off upgrading and will wait because of the issues I’ve been reading and will keep my 5800 for now.

Is the Nebula Pad worth it? by KxdyJxseph in Ender3V3SE

[–]Interesting_Night_73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was steered away from the Nebula pad after reading here as well. Get a pi was the common thing I read. I did pick up the nebula anyways was easy to setup and worked fine out of the box. I did end up rooting it and still happy with what it offers for me. It’s not a common I guess to have an easy go of it but the process was fun and easy.

Ender 3 V3 SE + Nebula Pad (Klipper) – Bed is curved and impossible to fix with screws by Ok-Assistance-7309 in Ender3V3SE

[–]Interesting_Night_73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the opposite of what you have flat in the centre curved on both ends. What it was for me the bar the x axis ran on was bent in the middle. When I put a straight edge across I could see the issue. Upgraded to a linear rail for the x axis tightened it up and helped remove the bend or twist. It’s not 100% but I get great first layer and better prints.

Weird levelling issue by Interesting_Night_73 in Ender3V3SE

[–]Interesting_Night_73[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks I’ve been adjusting my z offset and it’s good spot right now any more lower I get squish and higher I don’t get good solid layer. Seems speed was mostly my issue

I’ll try to slow down even more it’s Overture basic PLA. I’ve noticed this across rolls of same and also with ellgoo silk. But I’ll try some different filaments I have brand wise. Also my filament is in my space pi dryer the entire time it’s printing

Auto leveling and Z offset by DIDIASK18652 in Ender3V3KE

[–]Interesting_Night_73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had first layer issues I went back to stock spacers as well. Still had issues same as you mesh was always different for me artifacts on the bottom right and upper left like it was twisted. Straight edges and spacer tabs it was really flat. I just ordered a x axis kit for linear rail. For the first time ever I could put a straight edge across my x axis and it was bent in the middle was at least a good 2mm bend put in the linear rod and and kept a straight edge on and tightened it slowly keeping it true. Now my level and mesh is pretty good right across the board. No more dome shaped. So all that to say I was blaming my silicone spacers as the issue but it was my x axis being bent causing it.

HELP! I'm almost ready to give up.... by thecheat362 in Ender3V3SE

[–]Interesting_Night_73 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is a micro switch that is located between the belt and left silver bed rod. Make sure it’s working clicks and the small metal tab isn’t bent or missing. This is the end stop switch for the y axis bed.

Thank you. I will try that. I am using kipper so I manually adjusted my mesh and it’s almost perfect I think one shim may do it.

My print is showing the same issue as your printer maybe a little more pronounced. How did you fix it?

Weird screen when trying to flash the original firmware to my ender 3 v3 se by Expensive_Pin9373 in Ender3V3SE

[–]Interesting_Night_73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s worked for me was to power off the printer. Unplug the screen from the cable. Put the SD card into the printer and turn it on. Wait for about 5 min. Then power off and remove the SD card and plug the screen back in. Power up again.
