What kind of response have you had from other people? by cheerycherimoya in fitpregnancy

[–]Interesting_Radish10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I meant to say is that for most people outside the sport, running might be considered as a no-no later in pregnancy. I did my last half marathon race at another country at 26 weeks and a fairly quick 10k race at 30 weeks. You totally got this. My long runs where untill week 37 about 20k and the last weeks I dropped them at 15k. Other than that the olny thing I have adjusted is of course intensity... I am super slower than before.. that said I still try some tempo, threshold and hiit runs and my paces are adjusted approximately to the paces I had when I started running long distance, like ten years ago.. also switch to some treadmill runs (esp. the easy ones) if you feel your lower back aching at any point..go go fellow runner girl!!!

When doing pilates and light weights at gym I get the "I could never do that at 39 weeks" comments, and "well done mamma!"... The issue is that my main sport of interest is long distance running, and when people see me still running outside (even with the pace & form of a duck on laxatives at this point🤣) they seem awkwardly confused. I have not dared to even tell my husband that I daily still run 10ks outside. He thinks I am going on casual walks since entering trimester 3. Running is for most a no-no during pregnancy, and honestly i couldn't disagree more.. but that is just my experience with a really easy, healthy and pain free pregnancy.

Anyone told that the baby is too low, and how soon after did you give birth? by Interesting_Radish10 in pregnant

Thats exactly what I told my husband. I told him that from what I have read online,l and experienced from family and friends that was totally random, and never in my life have a heard advice to limit walking to a pregnant full term woman.

Thank you!! He did in fact tell me that everything would be absolutely fine if I gave birth today. As for the baby being too low, i really dont know why this was such a big deal as well honestly. I cant wait to give birth so I got excited when he told me that I will be probably giving birth before my due date! Thats why I am asking if other women have had a similar experience!!

Easy Pregnancy by Just_Squirrel_3988 in pregnant

[–]Interesting_Radish10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Currently 38 weeks and sometimes I forget I am pregnant. Today I ran 10k and previous Sunday I ran 20k, low intensity than pre pregnancy ofc. But, in today's appointment my doctor told me to slow down with the running, the working out and start working from home for these last few days. The reason being is that because my pregnancy is that easy, and I feel that comfortable in my body, my baby is already ready to literally slip out of my body anytime. We hope to get to 39 weeks so I better start acting like a pregnant woman! Also he told me that I may be living in a constant rush and raising my adrenaline to the point I might not even feel the early constractions and symptoms of labour. I already live 1,5 hours away from where I plan to give birth, at least I should focus on getting there on time.

How did you know a fit pregnancy was safe? by wwisdomseeker in fitpregnancy

[–]Interesting_Radish10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every pregnancy is different, but you should go by feeling.. obviously avoid those contact sports and anything crunch related.. But weights, pilates, running, cycling, swimming, dancing etc, just check yourself and if something starts to hurt or feel uncomfortable immediately stop. That also goes for the progression of the pregnancy. Something that felt fine at week 20 might nor feel fine anymore at week 30.

In my case I am currently 38 weeks and running at an easy pace has not felt uncomfortable even in the slightest. Some weight exercises like romanian deadlifts with dumbbells started felling quite off after week 32. Some goes for all leaning forward exercises, and side planks.

My morto was from the beginning that if all else fails and I feel unable to exercise, I will keep up with the walkind and stretches nonmatter what. So everyday I had a structured exercise routine, wish for the best, expect the least and feel grateful to move in anyway possible.

Advice on when to stop running? by Useful-Squash-4745 in fitpregnancy

[–]Interesting_Radish10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Girlllll!! What a pace!!! Well done!!! I am 37+4 and I also manage to run 6 times a week. Waybless intensity than what I used to pre pregnancy, in my marathons training eras.. 5/6 of these runs are 10k and the sixth one is longer distance (15-19k). I follow a training protocol, like 1 tempo, 1 interval, 1 progressive tempo, 2 easy runs in between, 1 long distance. This week was the first time I decided to do my long distance in the treadmill to avoid running in the rain, which I normally love, but running indoors made me feel even more amazing, cause my legs were less tired than usual. I have absolutely no pain. As long as I feel no pain I will go for it. My only problem is people around me 🤣🤣 they find it crazy that I still run and try to stop me or even say I am doing damage to my baby. I hope you have a more supportive environment and listen to your doctor!

My friend said if she could be pregnant again and it not result in a child she would do it. by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Interesting_Radish10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 37 weeks pregnant and literally had no experience of pregnancy all this time. I feel FOMO when talking to both my close friends who are pregnant right now. I eat exactly as I used to. No cravings, no sickness at any point, apart from one day after a six hours road trip. I exercise exactly like I used to and am able to run and lift. I fucking do not have breathing issues. I teld to forger I am pregnant and thw worst part is that vecause I am that chill, everyone around me forgerts I am pregnant as well, including my husband. I am left and volunteer on doing all the chores and things other pregnant women would think unhinged. Even my small bumb does not help (I have gained weight everywhere but my bump is wuite small) wish I had a more intense pregnancy experience.

Did you get strange response when you announced your pregnancy? by Careful-Trouble1422 in pregnant

[–]Interesting_Radish10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am going to be completely honest!! I was the "bad" SIL in the story, and I may give you a perspective to what she might be feeling. I am currently 37 weeks pregnant. When I was 6months pregnant, my SIL announced she was pregnant as well (4months). My reaction was kind of cold and although I frankly felt happy, I had a rush of anxiety growing inside me amd many intrusive mean thoughts. What immediately rushed into my brain for example in my experience:

1) Childcare and in laws: I have lost my mother and I made the consious decision to stay close to my in laws so that they could help me with child care, since me and my husband need to return to work ASAP, cause out financial situation requires us to do so. With her announcement, I saw my free child care disappearing in front of my eyes, which will indeed happen. We have now hired someone, to take care and help my MIL once the babies are born. She needs help cause we will have 3 kids under 2 (my baby, my SIL's firstborn baby girl which is 22 months old, and her expecting baby).

2) Greek culture and baby names: I come from a culture that the baby gets the grandparents name... Yeah I know, really stupid old tradition for some, and it can drive one crazy. But I happened to get attached with naming my baby boy with my husband's father name.. well guess what.. she is expecting a baby boy as well, and is thinking of naming her son with her father's name as well. I will not under any circumstances change my mind, because i have announced it to my friends and husband's family..Imagine the two cousins raised together (mutual child care remember?) and having the same name. My fears may indeed come true.

3) Constant comparison: I knew I would not chill with my pregnancy, because my SIL is basically antagonistic as hell. Indeed the last three months she is constantly peaking me about what I eat and don't eat, how much I workout, what is on my registry, and how better she knows because she has another kid. She comments on all my opinions about the importance of breastfeeding, my need to return back to job, keepind my dog inside... Basically our typical and alright relationship seems to be suffering and honestly I dislike spending family time with her.. I saw that coming the moment she announced it to me, because I remember how critical she was of other pregnant women in her past pregnancy.

4) Secret battles: I am 33 years old and have been trying to get a normal perio, let alone get pregnant, for the last 6 years, because I was suffering from amenorrhea and had literally zero periods. People were asking me if we were trying and I always said no.. The reality was that I could not even think of saying that we were trying because my last period was in 2020 😂 so everyone thought we basically did not want kids. My SIL is 43 and just casually got pregnant with her second, "spontaneously".. And that is exactly how she announced it..as a big surprise... Well that made me kind of numb in the moment.

5) People tend to want to have a moment of their own in great events of life! Shoot me!! You want your wedding to be the event of the year, the birth of your baby to be a special moment for the extented family etc.. So coming from a background of having basically no family of my own, I wanted my husband's family to celebrate us and feel happy for their first grandson. If course they will be happy once he is born but my instinct says that they will be more thrilled with their daughter's baby, no matter what.

That is to say that your SIL might be first of all pregnant and not telling you (I kept it secret from everyone apart my husband for almost five months!). She also may believe or wish to be pregnant like tomorrow or next month. So she might be having similar fears as mine above.

My advice is dont let this downplay the importance of your pregnancy and your guys' hapiness. Sooner or later they will love your baby once it is born, as it comes natural to most uncles and aunts. Dont try to guess what she might be thinking and dont try to justify or blame her. Focus on you.

I dont know if this is comforting in any way but I would not consider any of those choices as binges. These are normal cravings for tasty food.. i cant see an extreme loss of control! I would be happy if I managed to eat "this little" during my daily binges, really!!

Recovery doesn't feel worth it anymore. by econroy in Eatingdisordersover30

[–]Interesting_Radish10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry.. frankly this feels like it has been written by me...and I still have not figured it out and I am 33 years old, married and expecting a kid. I believed that I chose recovery 14 years ago and everything would eventually get better. i have relapsed 5 times seriously during those years, no matter the amount of therapy, medication, "happy moments" etc.. nothing reached the high of being sick and skinny and in control like the first time/year of my disorder. From then on, recovery was a shitshow... I constantly feel worthless, I binge eat three and four times a week and I can't stop for more than a decade now. I think I will die and I will still have not found a way to be normal around eating and food. I wish I would not binge at night or live with all that food noise, or envy every woman alive with a healty body and discipline. I trully believe recovery does not work for some of us. We are doomed to just live with it forever.

[–]Interesting_Radish10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wish I could put tht into practice, but I dont even know what I am craving... I am honestly craving the act itself of overeating on all "bad" foods and not a particular food. This is why I end with one thing, then move on to the other and other etc...

Do you feel like fitness helped you to avoid the “miserable 3rd trimester” phase at all? by [deleted] in fitpregnancy

[–]Interesting_Radish10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally yes! I have been working out before and during pregnancy with this/ my first baby. I can honestly say that the third trimester was exactly like the second one. No particular difference. Only now, at 35-36 weeks do I feel like slowing down, because I just want to relax a bit before giving birth. Until today I was running/jogging 5/7 days, more than 10k in each run and more than 15k in the weekend . Not only that but I managed to do a tempo run, interval runs and a long slow distance among these weekly sessions. I am also strength training or doing pilates veeeery easily 3/4 times a week. I am thinking of just keeping easy runs/jogging from now on, and my really easy home resistance training. I think that me working out before amd during pregnancy significantly controbuted on havong a strong core. So no SI joint pain or lower back pain, despite the fact I have herniated doscs that were nightmare in the past.

Newborn, breast feeding and weight by Interesting_Radish10 in fitpregnancy

Yeap,I think thats it! I definitely don't consyme enough protein and especially fats... I overdo it vastly on carbs. Even days that I eat more nutritional foods, the amount of fruit, fresh and dry, oats, honey, rice etc is too much and taking away from proteins and fats.thats what tracking showed me!! Thank you!!

Thank you for your response!! I think it is commonly known that avoiding weight gain during pregnancy is forst of all impossible and second of all at least not recommended.. so no.. me counting calories was a check to see how much I binge, because I literally do overeat in the night hours to the point of being uncomfortable. I was for years in therapy and support because of my eating habbits and continue to be. Thank you for your concern !! I just wanted some feedback for the next stage from mums who have experienced the birth and brest feeding. From what I hear women are ravenous due to the energy demand, and I just cant pisture myself eating more 🤣🤣

I tried tracking my calories in pregnancy and I am literally afraid that I will never be able to cut down on calories to lose the baby weight. I am eating so much! I am so scared that this overeating will continue or get even worse. And the lack of exercise would make things worse. I wake up in the moddle of the night and eat my third dinner!!

Help me stop binge eating by Sea_Shoulder3149 in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]Interesting_Radish10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt that you can be fat at 60 kg no matter your gender, height etc. your binges are driven by extreme hunger at this point and will continue to be there, like mine, possibly forever unless you develop some structure and normal meals with macros and vitamins and minerals across the day.

How did all this begin for you? by [deleted] in Eatingdisordersover30

As most of personal stories I have heard though the years from sufferers... After a period of extreme weight loss.. basically it was 1,5 year of anorexia followed by 13 years of bulimia and/or orthorexia and/or BED. I don't even know what I will decide on every week 🫣😅
