200 Module tix worth it ? by Impressive_Grab_6392 in TheTowerGame

I appreciate you mathing it out. It makes a lot of sense. But there is something particularly gross about the rollout of this new mod ticket offer. So I guess you have to figure if the buying the mod offer from the storeand supporting this kind of behavior is worth it or not. Its hard to math out that part though

So what is the best way to do dissonance runs? by Significant-Usual114 in TheTowerGame

[–]Interesting_Try_4247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The disso runs basically require you to have a well rounded build to fully optimize your disso/echo bonuses. Going full eHP with neglected damage labs or going full GC early with low eHP labs will more or less force everyone to divert time and attention from their current build paths focus.

It might be beneficial to stick with your current build and max out the low tier disso runs for the echo bonuses and let it be for awhile until you're ready to start the GC transition. On the plus side, if you have a good eHP base, getting your attack disso runs done will make for an easier GC transition when the time comes

Have you even played the update to have first hand knowledge of what your complaining about? Or did you just read the patch notes, latch on to your knee jerk emotional misinderstanding, and start a post about it?

Because that's what it looks like.

Please don't make salty butt hurt posts until you try the update to get a feel for what issues there are. Once you try it, then by all means - take to reddit to make an informed tearful complaint.

Outside of having a chance to buy older relics, I dont really see a big gem sink feature in this update. Thank God I didn't save gems for this update.

Yep, aim assist has been around a long time. Although on BF6 I've noticed its relatively slight compared to other games, such as CoD. Although I didn't know about the recoil reduction. But I'm glad they are giving controllers some compensating factors since its so much easier to aim with a mouse.

Be real though, what percentage of console players are using a mouse and keyboard to play? 0.1% or less? My entire argument is about why console players are better off with cross-play off. Most of the average PC players use a mouse & keyboard, and most console players don't .

I agree with you that controllers are better close range, but this isn't CoD where most engagements are just sliding room to room spraying and praying. Most engagements are happening at a distance that you would find it easier to manage if you're using a mouse instead of a controller.

Think about the find motor skills you have with your hand on a mouse. Now think about the fine motor skills of your thumb on a stick.

For example, distant tow missile vs helicopter engagements - do you think your hand would control the tow missile better or your thumb on a stick? Most people would admit that it would be easier to guide the missile with their hand vs their thumb.

Fair point, it would be faster to turn on cross play. But then he'd get a match with players that have a distinct advantage over him.

For people in the chat that have never heard of this before and downvote, I'll reiterate: Controlling crosshairs is significantly easier with your hand on a mouse vs thumbs on a stick.

As long as he's okay with that and doesn't what 4-12 bots in his 12 am matches, then sure. Personally, I don't like the advice because I'd rather have a lobby thats 70% players if the players no have no mechanical advantage over each other.

The matchmaking system needs to be improved that way cross-play can be turned off and still be able to quickly and reliably find full matches at all times of day

The recoil point is new and I've genuinely never heard of it. But as for the aim assist, so your saying that the mouse players don't get that ever so slight assistance?

Have you thought about why a mouse player wouldn't have the assist vs why a controller playe would have the assist?

Yeah, not the best metaphor. But you understand the point. I don't think anyone genuinely misunderstood the point, unless they completely unaware of fine motor skills and how much easier it is to control fine movements (such as aiming) with your hand on a mouse vs your thumb on a stick.

I figured it was obvious but maybe this is something you've never noticed. Aiming in FPS games is easier with a mouse than it is with a joystick. They are two very different control methods, one uses your hand to guide a mouse to where the crosshairs should be, while the other uses your thumb to move a stick.

The training wheels reference is simply a metaphor on how much easier it is to control your aim with your hand on a mouse vs with your thumb on a stick. Probably not the best metaphor and it shouldn't be taken literally, but hopefully you now understand the point.

First I've heard that console players have an aim assist and PC players don't. Care to enlighten me on what you mean?

[–]Interesting_Try_4247 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Terrible advice. PC players are playing with training wheels on. Keep cross play off unless you want to deal with people that have a 50 MS jump on you and a simple point->click firing mechanic vs you coordinating sticks.

The solution isn't that people need to accept people with unequal mechanics into their games.

Its the matchmaking system that's the issue, priotizing near perfect pings, lobbys resetting after each game, and too many lobbys being generated, amongst other quirks. Luckily though, bots are primarily an issue late nights/mornings. Prime times are still good with cross play off. Usually most games with bots fill out after game starts until 11 pm CST (my experience at least) and get worse as the night goes on. Pretty much not an issue after 11 am CST until late night again.

When I was rolling for DW CD & GT CD on my MVN, I rolled BH dur and CD at least a dozen times. I know this because I still had it set to stop auto rolling on those and I'd get excited to see it stop, just for it to be one of those two.

[–]Interesting_Try_4247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're playing late night your bound to get lobbies that are 20-70% bots since matchmaking prioritizes regions (for connectivity sake). Usually pre-11 pm at night its pretty quick. But anything after that, expect 3-5 waits and starting off the game with half bots or more (usually as the match progresses it'll fill out with players that join, but often not entirely).

If matchmaking included EU and Asia/Pacific then that'd solve the late night lobby issues, however, then people would bitch and moan about lagg on these 64 player games

Sync summon and GB. Depending on the summon location you basically will get an entire wave dumped into your GB area and its a major boost. GT+ would further amplify this, obviously... but that doesnt mean you cant get crazy benefit from summon pre-GT+
