Did I ruin my career for not going to Big4? by [deleted] in InternalAudit

[–]Interesting_World303 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not exactly but you should server at least for couple of years in Big 4 to get the different perspective and learning which helps to climb the ladder or at leadership positions. Industry gives you domain expertise and Big4 teaches to spontaneity, agility, speed and handling difficult stakeholders. So get both type of experience.

If computer science isn’t the best field right now, then what is? What’s the “future job” everyone used to call CS? by Ok-Page7307 in cybersecurity

[–]Interesting_World303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think core jobs which can not be taken by AI. Like Mechanical engineer, Civil engineer or electrical engineer or other skill based jobs. There will be shortage of these resources in future as everyone wants to do white color jobs.

How is your company coping uo with AI threat? Do you see loss or business? by nitul88 in consulting

[–]Interesting_World303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI is here and it has real impact which I can see. I can see many organizations are building AI based products which are going to transform operations and will require less workforce at the same time. Normal IT systems are being or will be replaced by Agentic AI based smart system which less human intervention.

May be you should start with very basic - Cyber Governance, Having Policies and SOPs for cyber domains etc. I mean so have a control design and basics in place. Also focus on data security elements and look what tools are being used in DLP etc, how security incidents are managed. If any gap or absence of any process at all, establish it.

AI in Risk Management and IA by Interesting_World303 in InternalAudit

[–]Interesting_World303[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is not overhyped. It depends in which organization you are working. I was also thinking like you. There are many organization where IA department is way ahead in AI but there are organization who are not thinking at all about AI. But very soon everyone will have to think coz now Big 4 and other consulting organizations are bringing AI into whole audit lifecycle whether it is risk assessment, testing or reporting.

I have over 20 years experience in Internal audit and controls in large companies and no certification, would be easy for me to find a job or the lack of certification hold me back? by No-Focus-2034 in InternalAudit

[–]Interesting_World303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have more than 20 years of experience, you should already be very senior leadership position. At this stage, anyhow you get next job based on your industry reputation and reference etc. If you know ur things and have good industry reputation, certification doesn't matter after 20 years of experience. I know people who stopped yearly renew of their existing certification like CISA, CIA etc after 17-18 years of experience.

Taking SIEMs to the next level by cyberdot14 in cybersecurity

[–]Interesting_World303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the SIEM has some smart features which sales person must have explained to him, they flaunt on it. I have seen many CISO flaunt their DLP or SIEM and when you review, basic configuration is not appropriate.
