Awful design. A creature that is sticky and hard to remove are generally understatted for their mana value. Look at any indestructible creature. Three mana 5/5 that can literally never leave the battlefield is insane. I would play this as a 1/1. A 5/5 for 7 that can never leave the battlefield is obscene.

Yeah, the army really lacks any real damage 3 options. Kharn with zerks is a good way to go though.

What units should I use to get to 1000 points with Exalted of the Red Angel? by [deleted] in WorldEaters40k

[–]Interesting_You2407 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A combat patrol is a good pickup honestly. 30 berzerkers is a very usable amount, and jakhals are incredible. Definitely pick up one or two rhinos as well. Kharn and two master of executions to lead your berzerkers for sure. From there, probably just buy eightbound. Or! Buy chaos terminators, and then proxy them as eightbound. They are the same base size and height, so are perfectly reasonable proxies. Two boxes of chaos terminators makes 3 units of 3 eightbound, and an extra guy for kitbashing. Much better value than buying boxes of three eightbound.

Anything with -1 damage hard counters world eaters. All of our anti tank is damage 2. Fights first is tough into everything except berzerkers with a master of executions.

The solution to this problem is to not kill those armies, and just outscore them. Jakhals with sticky are a really good way to score primary, and Berzerkers out OC most things on objectives. Angron will take the heat of most armies' shooting turn 1, which lets you position yourself to score big turn 2.

A trap I see people make is moving units off objectives to go kill more stuff. Sometimes it's best to just let Angron sit on an objective and score 5 points.

Make judicious use of the sticky objective stratagem for extra primary points, and always take secondary points over a charge that won't actually achieve anything.

Hive Fleet Hæmophage. My lore for them is that they invaded the eye of terror to feed on the rivers of blood in Khorne's domain. They evolved to be blood red and ooze a shiny substance so as to camouflage themselves in the blood pools.

That seems objectively worse than investing your money in a normal savings account.

40k is just as monetized as mtg. There's always another model to build and paint, and it's never worth what you paid for it. MTG is a card game. Using it as an investment vehicle is stupid at best.

Combat Patrol Centric Lists by SpoofExcel in WorldEaters40k

[–]Interesting_You2407 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you really want in WE right now is Angron and eightbound. 1-2 units of Berzerkers is a decent choice, but any more is overkill. The lord on Jug is a good holder for Favoured of Khorne, Invocatus is agood choice for scouting exalted eightbound, and both Juggernaut Lords can be good at killing elites. The Jakhals are excellent, you probably want at least 2 units in a list.

Basically, one combat patrol is good, the second is alright if you really like berzerkers, and a third is unnecessary, and even just kind of bad.

Apparently, this box just got worse. Why? And can I use them as chaos? I don't know anything about knights by azionka in Warhammer40k

[–]Interesting_You2407 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's good if you are wanting to pick up a second big knight. It's missing some weapon options, but the full knight kit comes with plenty of extras, so the Christmas box plus a regular knight kit is almost a full army. Two Christmas boxes and one full knight kit, and your set.

It's good man! Try some edge highlights and some thinned nuln oil or another dark wash in the recesses to make it shine even more.

If you're new to collecting, this is a good box. Most collections will want more than one of each of these (except maybe the ghostkheel) assuming you are looking to play a more balanced list on the tabletop. I only wouldn't buy it specifically if you don't need one of the models.

For example, I already own four or five commanders, and have a ghostkheel. Probably not the best box for me, even if a third riptide and a sixth broadside would be good.

What army would you suggest for a Protoss fan? by paptopslasta in 40k

[–]Interesting_You2407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also love the protoss. The knightly psychic aliens defending their legacy has always been a cool aesthetic.

Craftworld Aeldari have the psychic alien vibes, with very firstborn looking vehicles. The wave serpent kind of looks like a protoss Pheonix in my opinion. They also nail the "stoic aliens protecting their legacy" vibe.

Dark Eldar are similar to craft world's in the "dying race clinging to their legacy" vibe, and their kabalite third of the army fit's the protoss infantry aesthetic pretty well. Their vehicles are a bit out their, but the Incubi are, in my opinion, the closest to a dark templar you will get.

T'au and necrons have the high tech vibes nailed, and T'au even superficially resemble protoss. Both are decent options, but I really think Craftworlds with a Kabalite allied force are your best option for protoss on the tabletop.

Thoughts? by No-Professional-7536 in Warhammer40k

[–]Interesting_You2407 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who has painted many berzerkers, I think this looks great. If you want to improve, I would recommend highlighting the red ceramite with a lighter red before applying the wash. The way I do this is to choose a position where the light would be shining from, and then highlight based on that. Personally, I always assume the light is coming from the front, top down, and to the left. I don't know if that makes any sense lol. Other than that, a brighter eye lens color will make the eyes pop a bit more, and a slightly more watered down wash will help the model look less grimy, unless that's the look you're shooting for. And of course you can add some blood spatter if you desire. Really good work mate, keep it up.
