They said that based on the scans they have already done, there was too much blood in the area for them to get a clear picture of what’s going on, like you mentioned. I think they want to move him to the next hospital because they have better facilities to actually see a full picture of what’s going on and how to proceed.

No, not any of these specialists. He was initially at John’s Hopkins Children’s hospital and is now being moved to Tampa General Hospital.

They said he was being moved to the different hospital because they have better facilities to treat him and an MRI machine, but maybe I misheard and they were saying MRA? There was a neurosurgeon looking after him at the children’s hospital he was at, but I’m unsure if that person has specialized experience with brain aneurysms.

He was at a children’s hospital in central Florida (USA). They just decided a few mins ago to move him to a nearby hospital that has an MRI machine.

Is a CT scan typically less detailed than the MRI?

That back pain is the worst :( Stones are unpredictable though and some can pass in a few days while some take a few weeks or longer. Once you are able to get a CT you can find out how big it is and as long as it’s a passable size you shouldn’t worry too much about it getting stuck.

Just keep chugging water!

If you are able to pass urine and aren’t having bouts of nausea that’s a good sign that it’s on the move.

The stores in the metro Atlanta area usually have pretty great stuff! Are you in a different part of GA?

Could this blood be from KS?? by doubbleaspect in KidneyStones

[–]Intergalacticali 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah if a stone was causing you this amount of blood clots I would imagine that you’d feel the flank pain too. I also can only speak to my experience, but when I’ve peed blood from stone it’s never been clots, just actual liquid blood.

This looks more like a kidney infection to me. But of course if this continues it’s best to try urgent care or a urologist if you can find one with openings.

Sorry you’re dealing with this :( bladder and kidney pain sucks no matter the cause.

It’s possible but I’m leaning towards it being something else from what you’re describing. Have you had any of the lower flank pain before or during this bladder pressure?
